EBU confirms: Romania to host Junior 2006
According to a press release from Romanian broadcaster TVR published by oikotimes.com, Romania has been chosen to organise the 2006 edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Svante Stockselius, supervisor of the contest, meanwhile confirmed the news. Earlier today, the EBU could not yet confirm the host country of the fourth edition.
It's a widely known public secret that Romanian TVR and Dutch AVRO were the last two broadcasters in the running to organise the 4th Junior Eurovision Song Contest. For the second time, Dutch broadcaster AVRO failed to receive the honour of organising the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
TVR already announced the contest will take place in Romania's captital Bucharest. The public broadcaster is eager to organise the contest in a venue with approximately 6,000 seats.
