Plagiarism claim made public
'Stations ordered to silence Plan B'
Reports from Slovenia suggest that the song Plan B, which was selected to represent Slovenia in the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest, is now under serious investigation following the first official accusations of plagiarism. All radio stations have apparently been asked to stop playing the song for the time being because of a possible infringement of copyright.
Mars Music, the exclusive representative for EMI music in Slovenia, launched an official claim today, according to reports. In a statement issued to all Slovenian radio stations and media houses, it stated that part of the song Plan B is a direct copy of the track Santa Maria. The song, performed by Simone, was the Austrian entry to the OGAE Song Contest of 2002.

Neither RTV Slovenija or Anžej, who was in Malta over the weekend to promote the song at the Maltese selection, have made fresh comments following the official claim. We await the official reaction.
