Singing Hard rock hallelujah
Lordi to represent Finland in Athens!
Lordi has won the Finnish national selection with the song Hard rock hallelujah and will represent the country in the semifinal of the 51st Eurovision Song Contest in Athens, on 18th May.
After all the songs were performed, there was an initial period of voting, after which the six songs for the 'superfinal' were announced. These were:
1. Anika Eklund - Shanghain valot
2. Kilpi - Katharsis
3. Jane - V.I.P.
4. Lordi - Hard rock hallelujah
5. Jennie - Take me higher
6. Tomi Metsäketo - Eternamente Maria
A second round of voting confirmed Hard rock hallelujah as the winner. With 67,369 votes (42,2%), the monsters won with a landslide.
Lordi will have to perform in the qualifier round in Athens on 18th May, due to Finland's disappointing result in 2005.
