A gospel touch for Cyprus

Annet Artani's plans for Athens revealed in Malta

During the past days Annet Artani, the Greek-American singer representing Cyprus at this year's Eurovision Song Contest, visited Malta as part of her promotour.
Thanks to the collaboration with Maltasong, local club members of OGAE Malta had the opportunity to meet the Greek-American singer representing Cyprus during her visit in Malta. Annet seeks to touch our hearts During her chat with some members of the Maltese Eurovision fan club, the 26 year old singer said that although she was born and raised in America, she always felt close to her Greek roots. She also feels close to the sister island, Cyprus which she is representing at this year's Eurovision Song Contest. Her love for Reiki and Yoga keeps her down to earth and humble. Annet says that she is not after materialistic fame but after a research of the soul and touching the hearts of her audiences through her music. Plans for Athens revealed on Eurovision Fever Speaking about her plans for the Eurovision Song Contest, Annet announced that she will be accompanied by 5 backing vocalists among whom the backing vocalist with whom she backed Britney Spears in her Dream Within A Dream tour. A gospel touch is what we're expecting from this year's Cypriot Eurovision entry. During the same show, Annet expressed her wish to duet with the Maltese entry singer, Fabrizio Faniello, something like international popstars Anastacia and Eros Ramazotti did together lately. Speaking about the disappointing result obtained by Cypriot star, Constantinos last year, Annet said that it must have been a bad day for the Cypriot artist as he surely didn't deserve such a low score. Annet described the semi-finals round as 'a hurdle sent by God to test our strengths.'. Annet or Annette? But...is it Annet or Annette? Here is her reply: "In America my name is written as ANNETTE but I was adviced to use ANNET in Europe, thus avoiding being called Annet-Te." Speaking about her favourites from this year's Eurovision Song Contest, Annet named the Greek, the Swedish and the Maltese entries as her current favourites. A repetition of Annet Artani's interview on Eurovision Fever will be repeated this Sunday on Super One Tv at 17:35CET. Click here for a live webcast.

I think that the Cypriot song sucks this year. She has a good voice, but the song is a shocker. It sounds like she's trying to be an african american ballad singer from a disney movie in the 90s.

no chance.

I honestly can't decide over the Cypriot entry.
Good song, too complicated though i think.
Begins with some emotion but then...
I'm afraid it will be very difficult for Cyprus to qualify for the big final.
Anyway, hope i prove wrong.
Good luck Cyprus!

Annette is perfect! She has amazing voice and even angels will cry when they listen to this beautiful song. The 12 points will not go to Cy from Gr because of the connection, but because we deserve them!

@ Benzin MUshmush

A country cant give points to another country that is not in the finals. I personally dont expect Cyprus to make it into the finals, even though Annet and the song are good. Therefore Greece's 12 points will go elsewhere... I personally think to Romania, Russia or Bosnia.

PS If you're unable to comprehend that even though they are separate nations Cyprus and Greece are one - culturally, musically, linguistically, politically - then I'm not sure what i can say.

If you want to talk about true political/neighbourhood voting please look to the North of Greece's borders in the ex Yugo states - Croatia, Bosnia, FYROM - and Albania; each will have at least 50 points before the results are even read...suddenly the 12pts u talk about are totally insignificant!

and somehing else
when i listen to a singer i don t matter whether he is fat, thin ,tall, short
what matters me is only if he can touch my feelings.
So i adored last year Chiara as many people obviously
who didn t matter her weight

so Annete isn t the tallest person
but she has the sweetest MOYTRAKI(LITTLE FACE )
the most balanced personality despite her achivements
and a superb black voice that thrills you
that s why i adored Annete from the first time she returned to Greece
a year ago.
She s my favourite with HAROYLA ALEXIOY
By the way tomorrow Annet s fist cd s been released
with 15 songs
half of them written by her
good luck Annete!!!

excuse me
i don t know why my previous answer s been repeated

look my friend ,from Malta i guess>
above this we speak EXACTLY the same language
we have the same religion
and the same anthem

but we are two different countries
at past 30 years ago we almost became one country
but now it s finished
we have much in common
and so it s inevitable to vote each other
we feel it

is it so difficult to understand it?
Cypriot singers work in greece
release their cds in greece
are all day on tv shows
and vice versa
greek singers work in cyprus
release theri cds in Cyprus
appear in tv shows
please don t be narrowminded
and understand that
