Comedy award for Global.Kryner
The Prix Pantheon is a well-known comedy award. The jury praised the Austrian band for their "amazing arrangements. They went far beyond the usual musical parody and created new, independant opuses. They do not fit into any drawer. But great art has to break the formats - and Global.Kryner are unique."
The Austrian band, which became famous for blending international pop hits with traditional Austrian (Oberkrainer) sounds, represented their home country at last year's Eurovision Song Contest, but unfortunately was not able to made it past the semi final. Subsequently, Austrian broadcaster ORF decided not to take part in this year's Song Contest in Athens.
