'Helsinki or Turku'

2007 venue to be announced next week!

Next week, Finnish broadcaster YLE will officially announce the venue, and thus the host city, of the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest. YLE representatives stated that only venues with a capacity for more than 10,000 spectators are being taken into consideration. The brand new website escfinland.eu reported that.

Ville Vilén, one of the project leaders of the upcoming contest, made a clear statement for the cameras of YLE News, saying that the current technology is asking for a venue with a capacity of more than 10,000 viewers. This means that only the Hartwall Areena in Helsinki and the Elysée Areena in Turku would still be in the running.

According to Vilén, a final decision will be taken and announced by next week, at the time of the national Midsummer holidays.
