100 songs received
Dora 2007: 100 songs and another song confirmed!
Head of Croatian delegation Aleksandat Kostadinov, told our partner site eurovision-croatia, that HRT has received almost one hundred songs for Dora 2007. The full list of the 32 songs that will proceed to the semi final will be known in two weeks. So far HRT has received some klapa songs (traditional Croatian Dalmatian male choir), ethnic songs such as the one by Miroslav Evačić, hip hop, rock, even some songs which will be performed by opera singers.
The latest update is that Luka Nižetić ( Dora 2003 and 2005 participant) has submitted the song Pusti me u san ( Let me in your dream).
Croatia took part in the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in 1993, achieving their highest ranking in 1996 and 1999 when they came fourth. This year, due to Severina's 12th place in Athens, Croatia will be in the semi final on 10th May.

Please Croatia don't send anything ethnic...
well, this opera thing is not really brand new...
trilogy in malta had done this one year before, monica anghel and marcel pavel have done something classic in 2002, Elisabeth Andreassen with her beautiful I Evighet in 1996, Magazin and Lidija with Nostalgija already in 1995, as Stella wrote in her previous article, and the list can surely be continued easily...
More than 100 songs?! RIDICULOUS!!!
In 1999 there were more than 500 songs submitted to the HRT. Now you can see how "important" Dora and the ESC have become for the Croatian musicians.
Well, a consequence of that what mr Svante Stockselius (excuse me if I wrote the name incorrectly) is for the ESC, that's mr Aleksandar Kostandinov for Dora.
Yesterday I read the news announcig "big names" in the Croatian preselection. All those "singers" stated are just average, in fact, the lower part of the average. We aren't creative any longer. Since 2003 you know how the Croatian song for the next year's contest is going to be like. Just like the winner from the previous year. Ethno wins, HRT sends ethno. Hardrock wins, HRT sends hardrock. If they will really be some traditional Dalmation music, I want it to go to Helsiniki. Even becoming last in the semis, it would, at last, be some Croatian music. That about the opera singers, it's going to be a farce. Everybody who understands somthing of opera knows that the two singers aren't opera singers of quality.
I am Croatian and my objective opinion is that since the semifinales have been introduced, Croatia does NOT deserve (have not deserved) a place in the finale evening. This year I guess will also reach it, thanks to the "Ex-Yugoslav Union". Unfortunatelly, as mr Kostadinov will riguard this as a success and, in his opionin, he will have a reason to continue with his farce of Croatian music.
Send one of the opera songs please... Like the article says, the door has been opened for a lot of new genres. Besides, there have been classical songs in the past... so why not? If it's a good song, then send it!
one of my favorite countries Crotia
GOOD LUCK
Seve really had to be higher ... i mean, she had the phrase of the year - AFRIKA PAPRIKA!
And Luka isn't really my type of music, neither is Femminem, so... i really hope for someone else - since they'll get lots of points from us lol
I´m a little disappointed that Danijela is´nt in the competition. She has a very beutiful voice and Neka mi ne svane was a great song!
