No case of plagarism!
Germany: Songs are fresh
The Eurovision-austria team reported on the are striking similarities between the Monrose entry and Shiri Maimon's Hasheket Shenishar, which came fourth for Israel in 2005 at the Eurovision Song Contest. They also claim a more than similar link between Heinz Rudolf Kunze's song and Start me up by the Rolling Stones! They have published a comparison link that can be found here.
esctoday.com contacted NDR and have discussed the songs in depth. There have been no complaints of plagarism to the broadcaster, but reproaches will be checked. Although there are similarities between the songs and the songs linked to them, the same can be said for thousands of songs.
Suggestions of similarities between songs competing in national finals and other songs are common place, and there is not enough evidence to suggest plagarism. NDR believes that the songs meet all the criteria to stand and there is no investigation. The three songs published will go forward and participate in the German final.

Well if Germany picks Roger Cicero it'll be impossible for me not to vote for it. It's superb and I love it. Very nice music, superb orchestration, very entertaining and yet another original style in ESC terms. As for Monrose, while the song is quiet nice and the video is wonderfull, I do think it'll get completely lost , and I doubt the girls ability to deliver it live with the punch it needs.
some might say there is too much entertainment in eurovision these days and a nic esoft ballad might just sneak in a win with all the other votes scattered
they appear to have touched up the MONROSE song and now got a superb video and i have to say i see this racing up into my top 10 from been bottom 2 now. excellent video especially ending

There is no use in paying attention to this preselcetion. ARD/NDR just ain't got a feeling what the Esc is about. Entertainment! Raab is the only one who can handle this. He knows how to write songs and entertain people. Stefan, please grasp your oppurtunity! No song is good enough to reach top twenty!
All harmless, crappy s*** of noise. (The term "music" is not dignified to be used.)
Hope for my country to be first.......... at the bottom!!
@Alexander
Hi,wow it's surprise for me...you have no people voting in Germany for "Deutschen Vorentscheid" ?Why?
We (Latvia) have both-jury and voting...
@Markus Faber
I totaly agree with U!
Jane & Texas Lightning for me were the winners!

I'm not sure about the Monrose track being a copy or not, but the minute Heinz's song started, I recognised the guitar riffs... but if there's no investigation, then I suppose the sound is original...
In any case, the only song I like is the one from Roger Cicero. I don't expect any of these 3 to get a really good result in Helsinki, but personally I like Roger best. The sound reminds me a little of golden oldies by the likes of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and others
Being German, I've to say that I don't like any of these 3 songs. Once again, only some 3 or 5 persons decided - it's such a shame. The German people should decide on the artists performing in the preselection! I'm not going to watch the German preselection, that's for sure. Better luck next time.
Oh my God... I really hope Germany will change the responsible broadcasting station for ESC and they will find a responsible person who has a bit more international experiences in music. Maybe german people do like Monrose or Roger Cicero (I like his music too) but I do not see one of the three acts beeing succefull in an international contest. Already last year it seems to me clear that Texas Lightning (I liked their song a lot) had no chance to reach a place in the Top 10 because Country Music is very special and we saw that not many countries liked it. I am afraid this year it will end even worse. I think if we send:
Heinz Rudolf Kunze --> not mor than 3 points
Monrose --> between 10 + 15 points
Roger Cicero --> not more than 20 points
NDR what did you select???? Awfull
Where's the similarity between Hasheket Shenish'ar being brilliant and Only Heaven Cries being a load of rubbish? Anyone?
well duh
and time to say goodbye was is and always will be the true winner of 2005
All three German songs are mediocre. I can see Roger's song being most successful, as I can see the performance of the sound being at least entertaining on the night.
The song by Monrose does have some similarities to 'the silence that remains', but it's like chalk and cheese. Monrose is a crap girly band with no voice behind them and completely forgetable. The Shiri Maimon song is a classic.
For the person who stated that the chick with the white cap was fugly, she looks like the kind of chick who would pop a cap in your ass for saying that.
MONROSE FOR GERMANY
Good Luck Germany! I hope that we will see a Top-10 placement this year!
even heaven cries
it would be the best song ever for germany
It's so ridiculous...
that's no reason to accuse them to be plagiarism...
They are clearly not copied...

Reactions on the whole have been positive ? Well, I know that the reactions about the nomination of the three artists have been extremeley negative. most German ESC fans are more than disappointed about the choice as non of the entries is a winner for sure - even a top 10 finish seems very unlikely !
i don't like monrose
roger cicero is the best for eurovision
All German Songs Are Of Bad Quality And Are Far Worse Than The Three In The german Final Last Year, I Think Germany Will Suddenly Arise With A String Of Good Results froom 2008 or 2009
Well, I just heard the monrose song... It does resemble "Time to Say Goodbye" (or by the original name, "The Remaining Silence"
but i'm not sure its enough to actually be considered as plagiarism. It doesn't really matter because there is no way to actually compare the performers. Shiri Maimon's professional performance was 100s of times better than the painfully non-vocalists who are Monrose... They are really bad live, and its a shame because in studio versions they sound really good.
Monrose - "even heaven cries" is the best and almost sure to win. Roger Cicero's song is quiet good too. Heinz Rudolf Kunze will be a total disaster.
Cicero's song is quite good, I don't see why it couldn't do well, like Max a few years ago. Monrose may be popular with young voters, but let's hope for a surprise.
Time to say goodbye is much better thn even heaven cries. And I really wonder if these girls can pull it off live...
"even heaven cries" is better than "time to say goodbye"^^
