More details on Beovizija

Serbia : Participants known February 7th

Serbian national broadcaster will reveal the names of this year’s participants for the country's national final Beovizija, on a press conference on Thursday, February 8th. The Beovizija will be co-produced by RTS and MEGAFON and it is scheduled to take place in the Sava Center on March 7th and 8th, at 21.00 CET.

On the first night twenty semi finalists will perform their songs. Only ten of them will make the final the next day. Both shows will be broadcast by RTS, RTS Satellite and webcast as well.  During the interval, on the final night, the annual Music Achievement Awards will be presented to the most successful Serbian music artists. Many international guests are expected as well, more details will be known after the conference on Thursday.

The Serbian audience will also have the opportunity to hear the songs and to learn more about the participants on ten shows which will be broadcast every day, but the weekend, from February 21st to March 6th.

As Serbia did not participate in last year's Eurovision Song Contest, they will be performing in the semi final on May 10th, in Helsinki.

@Sonja Adelman,

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G, the pearl of the Balkans !!!!

my vote go as follow :

12 - byzantine hepatitis (would have been even more meaningful in Athens or better, Constantinoupolis 3 years ago)
10 - sile zla (evil forces) with Jelena Karleusa guest starring, terrific :D
8 - Palatalisation of... AKA the power of sleep
7 - Blac cock down
6 - Sony Ericsson VS Motorolla (even though this year is rather the Nokia one)
5 - Beauty is not contagious
4 - Gipsy, bt the prettiest
3 - wise but you can't see it for the blonde natasa
2 - the emperor's new haircut *yeah i'm hooked*
1 - as long as it's not 0 (now they can be happy)

now the official list is a bit less thrilling, is it ? :)

Edin: well I still think you're wrong. Serbia and Bulgaria hasn't got a superb relationship, and Belarus is a communist country. You don't know if this will happen, I think you should relax a bit and wait for the contest before you draw such drastic conclusions. Like I said, there are many catholic countries in the contest as well, and we don't see Spain on the top, do we? And The fact that Turkey votes for Bosnia because of religion is based on false knowledge, I've talked to many turks who don't actually know that Bosnia is 50% christian, many turks think Bosnia is 100% muslim, as Albania as well. But Albania is 1/3 Christian too :)

So let's just see what happens first! And I know that we'll hear it for years and years if Serbia wins this year, even if the song is amazing. But don't forget that this year a serbian will perform for Bosnia and also a serbian will write the song :) So maybe you'll get some of those votes hehehe!! And it'll be even funnier if Turkey gives 12 pts to Bosnia now!! :)

Vladimir Popov, won't you just be quiet soon? Why don't you visit Bosnia and see what an amazing country it is? Stop judging, why does it bother you that people are muslims? Do you personally have some really horrible experiences with muslims? If not, then stop that crap!

Political pts to Bosnia-Herzegovina:

1. Turkey - Islam, Ottoman mentality
2. Albania - Islam
3. Serbia - because of the Sancak region
4. Montenegro - because of the Sancak region
5. Croatia - 20.000 Muslims there
6. Slovenia - same as Croatia
7. Macedonia - same as Croatia
8. Denmark - immigrants
9. Norway - immigrants
10. Sweden - immigrants

Bosnia should be out. GO SERBIA - kisses from Sofia ;)

Alek hardin, you SERIOUSLY heard Ivana Jordan on norwegian tv?? Of course she's serbian, she's as serbian as can be, last year she particiapated in the serbian preselection with the song Lazarica (about a serbian monastary called Lazarica), one of the absolute best songs that year :) She sings both serbian songs and english ones, but her serbian songs are WAY better!!

I'm glad that at least so many good quality musicians are participating!!!

Edin: my god haha when you talk about Serbia in that way you have to know that Serbia have no more benefits than Bosnia. And hey; there are MORE bosniaks all over Scandinavia and North Western Europe than serbs as well... So don't worry, we won't steal your Balkan points ;)

My absolute favourite among these stars is CECA SLAVKOVIC!! (to the ones who do not know it, this is not the famous Ceca- wife of Arkan. Her name is Raznatovic. Ceca Slavkovic is a brilliant singer, huge talent and has very interesting and dramatic etno pop and ballads as well) :) She is not just extremely talented and good, she is also very pretty! Perfect choice for Serbia :)

2. There are a lots of Bosnian Muslim immigrants in Scandinavian countries, Germany etc.

3. You have your 'Muslim brothers' - Turkey and Albania
