These are the qualifiers of tonight:

Iceland finished 13th in the 2006 semi final with Silvia Night an Congratulations. Therefore, the winner of the Icelandic final will have to enter the qualification heat in Helsinki.

Marcell, I really disagree with you, Jonsi is a great singer and performer and a I think he is a great person too. What do you mean he is shit? I really like his song Segdu mer but I don't neccessarily think it is good for Eurovision. I think Eldur or Thu tryllir mig would do better in Helsinki.
The girl who sings Blomaborn however CAN NOT perform in front of several million people although she too has a nice song. Her performance in the semi-finals was sooo off key !
So I say Eldur to Helsinki

Please not Jonsi!!!!!!!! He failed in 2004, and he will fail in 2007 too. He can't sing, and he is absolutely shit.....
"vetur" was the masterpiece of this selection (for once a national final has a masterpiece...)
and iceland chose the three worst of the third semi, and not "vetur"

now i want Bríet Sunna Valdemarsdóttir with "Blómabörn" to win
Jonsi won't make it to the final for Iceland, the song's typical and he can't barely sing

I think Iceland would do really well with [i]Jón Jósep Snæbjörnsson - Segðu mér[/i] in the ESC. But personally, I much prefer to listen to [i]Eiríkur Hauksson - Ég les í lófa þínum[/i].
My list for the final (as of yesterday):
1st: Húsin hafa augu (the best, but don't want it to win)
2nd: Ég les í lófa þínum
3rd: Ég og heilinn minn
4th: Eldur
5th: Segðu mér
6th: Blómabörn
7th: Bjarta brosið (could be better if the singer would be kicked)
8th: Þú tryllir mig (too stereotypical gay for my taste, maybe sound better in English)
9th: Áfram
Fridrik to Helsinki!
Eldur is really great and Fridrik has a very good voice! I really think that he might be an strong contendror!
Heida's song on Rapidshare is broken... that is, after about half the song it kind of slows down.

I am surprised that no one mentions Eiríkur Hauksson : he has the best song and voice (so far). And 2nd best would be Jonsi, imho.

I'm so happy that it turns out that we actually have a few good choices in the final. I would be fine with Jonsi, Fridrik Omar, Heida and Hafsteinn. All good songs. I especially like Heida's song, she is so cute and funny. But I'm guessing Jonsi or Fridrik are gonna win, Jonsi more likely.

Jason ... I'm a technical moron, sorry :-) ... but I can't download those mp3 files correctly - I end up having a bit of problems. I still have access wia streaming wma files at ruv.is/eurovision but this would be much nicer to have .... does anybody know how to download playable mp3 files?

Great songs in the Icelandic final. Pity though that Helgi didn't qualify. Just loved that song. Jonsi, Heida or Eirikur would be a great choice to represent Iceland.
I really really like "dú tryllir mig" - great song!! Without a doubt the best in the icelandic selection. Hope it wins...

I'm Icelandic and I'll be supporting "Þú tryllir mig" and "Eldur" in the final! Both songs would be great entries for us I think.. I just hope Eiríkur wont win :/

I wan't that song to win. (And I wan't them to improve the dance moves used in the show)
Although I'd be fine with "Ég og heilinn minn" or "Ég les í lófa þínum" winning.

Four songs have major opportunities and I'll eat everything you all cook (yeah, boiled shoes as well) if the winner isn't either Jonsi, Hafsteinn, Fridrik or Heida.
My personal favorite is probably "Eg og heilinn minn" (Me and my brain) with Heida, but Jonsi is really good!! I also would really like to see Hafsteinn!! Ha ha ha ... this will be a great Icelandic final!!!
