Czech Republic: Artists names and song titles announced
The artists that will participate in Národní finále Česka are:
1. L.B.P. - So real
2. Petr Bende - Zaklínám své moře
3. Vlasta Horváth - Adios
4. Lili Marlene - Žena ze stínadel
5. Sámer Issa - When I am with her
6. Helena Vondráčková - Samba
7. Helena Zeťová - Love me again
8. Kabát - Burlaci
9. Gipsy.cz - Muloland
10. Petr Kolář - Přísahám právě
The Czech national final will take place in Prague on the March 10th 2007, hosted by Jiří Korn. As a new entrant, the Czech Republic has to qualify from the semi final in Helsinki.
Although the Czech Republic will participate for the first time in the Eurovision Song Contest, it won't be the first time that a Czech performer will enter the Eurovision stage. Karel Gott, who represented Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1968, was born and raised in Pilsen, which makes him the first ever Czech performer on the Eurovision stage.

I heard our national speaker saying that ESC will see a lot of changes including the possibility to become a contest of the WORLD in 2009... i couldn't believe when i heard, they can't do that, ESC will loose all the sence... this a contest to unite the europeans and to show Europe's diferent cultures... they are just destroying our ESC... DON'T DO THAT PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

Kabat will not sing Burlaci. They will sing Mala Dama. Mala Dama is a great song. I think/hope that Kabat will win in Prague and go to Helsinki. And if they win I hope they will sing Czech in Helsinki. Love the song and I love Kabat anyway. This goup and the song could be a Eurovision winner.

I've heard the songs and for me the best song is Petr Kolar-Prisaham
What a bad start - several songs in frigging English! Get a grip Czechs, there is nothing wrong with Czech, and many songs have placed very high in recent years singing in a Slavonic language, like Serbia 2004 and Bosnia 2006.
Lyrics matter too - better good Czech than bad English!

and I like her when she speaks polish she has funny accent and she is a friend of one of the most famous singer in Poland- Maryla Rodowicz
Of the four songs I've heard ([i]So Real[/i], [i]Zaklinam Sve More[/i], [i]Zena Ze Stinadel[/i] and [i]Samba[/i]), [b][i]Samba[/i][/b] is far and away the most 'Eurovision-friendly', but that's not to say it's very good. Should be an interesting final.

Why would they give 12p to Russia!? It's Czech Republic... not Belarus or something.
They're more central Europe than alot of other participant countries and don't have that strong russian connection... is this one more ignorant view on the EX east block countries...
Live with the fact... those countries NEVER choose to be in that block! No one would ever leave ignorant comments like that if it wasn't because of history... but some people need to look closer at history... it's complex
