Belgium 2007 The KMGs

Song to be aired Sunday

The KMG's for Belgium!

Moments ago, esctoday.com's partner website Belgovision.com and eurovision-fr.net revealed that Belgium’s French speaking broadcaster RTBF chose The Krazy Mess Groovers (The KGM’s) to represent the country at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest! They were chosen internally by the RTBF and the song will be aired by La Une on Sunday.

The Krazy Mess Groovers are:

  • Sexyfire : lead vocals, guitar
  • Mr Scotch: keyboards, programming
  • Mr French Kiss: trumpet, flugelhorn
  • Big Boss: alto sax, flute
  • Mr The Answer: trombone
  • Mr Dee Bee Dee Bop: baritone sax
  • Mr Y: bass
  • Mr Cream: drums

The band consists of eight members, two more than the six stage performers allowed at the Eurovision Song Contest, there is no word yet on who will not appear on stage.

According to their previous recordings, most agree we can expect a jazzy disco or a funky song in English from the band. If you want to learn more about The KMG’s click here to visit they official site or here to visit their page at myspace.com.

Belgium will participate at the semi final in Helsinki since Kate Ryan failed to reach the final show last year in Athens with popular song Je t’adore.

I don't like the music they bring, it's not my style, but I'm sure if we get to sing as one of the 5 last songs, Europe could vote enough for Belgium to go to the Final Night, as there will definitely be no other entry that will have the same sound as this one.

Good luck to everyone and to each country in EESC Online and in Eurovision Live Event.

Disgusting, you used to be able to rely on the Walloons to sing in French! Allez-vous faire foutre!

I think it sounds very promissing - the ESC wants such acts these days. Classical chansons or schlager don`t work anymore - as we`ve seen in 2005. I`ll wait for the song but it seems like a good choice for Belgium , maybe its something like Moldova 05 or Les fatals Picards. We`ll see.....good luck to Belgium, it was so robbed last year. Still feel sorry for Kate, even if she isn`t from Wallonia but she represented the whole country of course.

I'm Belgian, but I've never ever heard of this band before :S
Their website seems ok and the audio available is nice, but I'll wait until I've heard the song before I'll make any further comments... although right now, calling them the Belgian Scissor Sisters might be taking it 1 bridge too far.

If it will not have the melody as strong as LIEFDE IS EEN KAARTSPEL's '96 , it will not do well, as funk and jazz does very bad at the ESC last time.

After listening to the audio clips on their website I have to say ....they're cool! This is my piece of cake, funky meets jazz! They remind me of acid jazz groups like Incognito and Brand New Heavies. Very good choice Belgium! I am waiting for a good, catchy entry from them! Bonne chance à la Belgique!

Wallonia as always sent better songs than Flanders, but this doesn't sound too promising, I hope I'm wrong...

I am glad this year French speaking side of Belgium will choose the song, they are always more original, I just think about Urban trad, they should have won in 2003 and the song in 2005 'Grand soir' was a classy one, much better than Je t'adore. Good luck Belgium or should I say Bon chance avec The KMG! Can't wait to hear the song!
