Iceland
The Icelandic entry will be performed in English. The title of Eiríkur Hauksson's song will be Valentine Lost.
Turkey
Kenan Doğulu's song title has changed slightly. Shake it up şekerim becomes Shake it up shekerim, to make sure that everyone outside Turkey knows how to pronounce the song title.

Andorra
Salvem el món, this year's Andorran entry, will be performed in Catalan and English.
Russia
Russian broadcaster ChannelOne picked their entry for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest earlier this week. The group Serebro will represent the country with a dance song titled Song #1.

Bulgaria
The Bulgarian entry will take part in the upcoming contest under the title Water. As it looks now, the song will be performed in its original language but the artists have chosen for an accessible name.

Slovenia'll win ESC in Helsinki. Read it in:

Our visitors have chosen Spain for win the ESC.
Website has chosen Bulgaria for win in Helsinki.
Some news from Bulgaria to all ESC fans: Stoyan and Elitsa said they are preparing their live performance and will try to make it very attractive. They said there would be many secrets and they don't want to reveal them. But they wouldn't take any dancers or drummers with them because they think in such case the audience wouldn't be concentrated on the main act
The only thing they revealed is that they have asked the organizers to make a real rain on the stage in Helzinki! But they don't know if this could be fulfiled
As I can not for my own country ( FRANCE GO FATALS PICARDS ) ..... I will give my vote to BULGARIA
As I can not for my own country : France " GOOD LUCK FATALS PICARDS", I will give my 12 pts to......
.....
BULGARIA. Nice song!!!!!
Good Luck too to Bulgaria!
This song is something new, something unseen in the previous contests. But i don't like it very much. It sounds like a techno-version of some macedonian folk-song (particularly like MORE SOKOL PIE)
Belarus - song is QUITE GOOD !!
Iceland - in my Top 10 list of songs since its selection, but it was BETTER IN ICELANDIC)
Turkey - INTERESTING SONG! I like it.
Albania - it's definitely a grower with the changes
Andorra - as always, one of my favourite ESC countries!!!
Russia - mainstream western sound ... nothing special, IMO
Georgia - haven't heard the NEW SONG, didn't like the OLD SONG
Bulgaria - I'm not sure about this one yet ... at first listen, it did not 'grab' me
The Netherlands - Nice voice, but it was DEFINTELY BETTER IN DUTCH ...was more special

And as you can see, Icelanders were too stupid to notice that.
Eirikur
Um - the video is in black and white. What colour were you hoping Eirikur's hair might be? LOL
And I want also mention that the video clip was presented yesterday, and the reactions are not that great here. The most controversy is about the new hair colour of Eiríkur Hauksson (note that I share name with him), our artist.
I'm Icelandic, and I'm used to that our entries will be destroyed once in English, and yes, I miss the national languages from Eurovision, so I'm happy that many other countries decided that.
As for the comparation between Icelandic and English versions of our entries, here is it of my opinion:
1999: All out of luck - Selma (only English, not available)
2000: Tell me (Hvert sem er) - Einar Ágúst og Telma (slightly better in Icelandic)
2001: Angel (Birta) - TwoTricky (bad in Icelandic, worse in English)
2003: Open your heart (Segðu mér allt) - Birgitta (much better in Icelandic, although fine in English too)
2004: Heaven - Jónsi (same as 1999)
2005: If I had your love - Selma (same as 1999, 2004)
2006: Congratulations (Til hamingju Ísland) - Silvía Nótt (slightly better in English, but the Icelandic lyrics are better)
2007: Valentine lost (Ég les í lófa þínum) (very good song in Icelandic (best of the year so far IMO), but ruined in English, I hate the title as I hate how Icelanders treat the Valentine's day, we have our own local love days, so we don't need some foreign tradition).
I was hoping Finland would've chosen Finnish song but no. And now these countries too have changed to English. I watched the Icelands national final live in web and didn't like the winner that much. The band felt a bit like wanna-be heavy band. But that's just my point of view
Aaargh, Iceland! Why change your beautiful Icelandic version? The lyrics there are truly heartfelt and Eirikur sings it with such meaning. It doesn't come across the same in English (and I'm English...
)
i really like the icelandic entry, but i think its sounds alot better and beautiful in Icelandic. i didnt understand the icelandic version obviously, but the lyrics of the english version sound stupid and as though dont dont really fit into the song. it's as though the song has lost a part of its beauty. IMO, the song sounds my beautiful in icelandic than english, but i still like the song.
I can believe that there are people actually liking Serbian and Macedonian songs!
And I’m Serbian!
Macedonian song, forget about it, look what is she singing “My world is called Music”
Yeah right, get some brain and stop stupefying us!
Ok ... I think these are the preliminary top 10 for me (in no particular order):
Hungary
Germany
Iceland (wish they kept it in Icelandic)
Lithuania
The Netherlands (wish she sang in dutch)
Serbia
Ireland (Love the haunting voice)
Macedonia
Denmark
Belgium
thanks for reading along, and have a good night ..
)
icelandic song should have stayed in icelandic
I just have to say that the portuguese song, good or bad, don't leave anyone indiferent! Plenty of comments!
@ erika lansen,
ON 9TH OF FEBRUARY, TURKISH ENTRY ALREADY KNOWN AS "SHAKE IT UP SEKERIM" !
WHEN DID WE HEAR SARBEL'S SONG ?
ON 28TH OF FEBRUARY !
I must say that you are very funny ! You can find many songs have got the words "shake...it...up" anyway...
SHAKE IT UP SHEKERIM KENAN. SOME GUYS ARE GETTING SO JEALOUS
Listen and enjoy: url=http://www.zippyvideos.com/7766909176750456/song4pt.ts_new/]http://www.zippyvideos.com/7766909176750456/song4pt.ts_new//url]
Don't underestimate the portuguese song!!
Has anyone heard the russian entry????
king kong
i respect ur opinion, but pls go and check ur ears first. lol
Iceland: BIG DISSAPOINTMENT. I don't know if the song in English will sound as good as in Icelandic.
Albania and the Netherlands. The same as above but without being one of my favourite entries.
About the new version of SLOVENIA: bad, bad. This wodnerful song has lost a lot of energy in the beggining!! And the end of the song... maybe sounds more triumphal but I don't like the picardy third accord for this song. Slovenia is not now in my TOP 10. Sorry about it.
@ Erika
"The turkish song i think is really bad with a copyright title from the Greek song from Sarbel. "
This is a big crap ! A Copyright?! You're watching too much TV
) or you are half-greek or you're just jeaulous because your country comes over with an even not average song...
Why Georgia and Bulgaria changed names of song. Previous were better
