It's snowing... Amour à la Française!

France: Performance under a snowdome?

Eurovision.tv revealed there could be an unusual performance with a very special gimmick to enjoy on 12th of May; the French representatives might perform their entry under a giant snowdome on stage of the 52nd Eurovision Song Contest!

Once upon a time there was a Song Contest... Then it turned into a Show Contest. Gimmicks, choreographies, fireworks, masks... Eurovision Song Contest is a television show, so the participants try to leave the best possible impression to the viewers in the three minutes allowed. It seems that it works too, as that's what the recent years' Eurovision Song Contest winners did. Even the latest tv-mania, the talent shows, are using this kind of performances as well. And not only them, considering that big names of the music industry are offering similar shows in their live concerts.

Every year at the Eurovision Song Contest we enjoy some original acts. This year looks promising as well... Eurovision.tv revealed that Les Fatals Picards, French representatives at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest, might perform under a giant snowdome! "The song is full of humour and could remind of the typical romantic Moulin Rouge-like athmosphere in Paris. We are currently thinking about putting Les Fatals Picards under a giant snowdome-like structure on stage at the Eurovision Song Contest" reliable sources close to this year's French delegation revealed to Eurovision.tv . A snowdome is a little globe made of glass, filled with water and with miniature buildings and snowflakes inside it. They' re also known by many names such us snow globes, water globes, snowstorms etc.

France will perform 13th at the final of 12th May, right after Sweden. Les Fatals Picards will represent the country with the song L'amour à la Française.

I agree with you Hèrmes, even if you loose i will be proud of france. This year we really send something good and not those tottally bad ballad. Believe me, the ballad that we send are far away from what we can do (and i'm sure not only france is in that case), this year we did send something better. Perhaps we could have done better, but who can't ?
I'm not a chauvinist but this year I think we've got the best.

This song is VERY VERY HAPPY :)
It's cool, fresh and unique. Just awesome!
It would be great to see Les Fatals on stage with
a beautiful snow fall...
L'amour, that's FRANCE

France risk ruining the song with this circus act, just like Silivia Night!

It would be very attractive performance but would also be unfair... last year they didnt let Macedonia to install one ordinary swing on the stage (due to technical complications... hehe) ... and if they now let thus...

PARIS 2008 !!!!, the greatest song this year, congratulations france !!!

Great idea !!!

Go, go, go fatals surgelés !!!!!! I'm sure this CAN win (it's the first time since i watch Eurovision that i can fully support my country YAYYYYYYYYYYY :D)

Even in case we hit the bottom (which would surprise me), i feel both proud, and - more important - represented with such a song. It's simply excellent, the style, the fun, the lyrics, everything is sooo 'homogenic' and the whole thing is perfect!

I never was so positive in any of my comments before i think :D

France is one of, if not THE, best ESC countries ever!

For example;
WHITE AND BLACK BLUES
C'EST LE DERNIER...
DIWANIT BUGALE
SENTIMENTS SONGES
OU ALLER
ON AURA LE CIEL
JE N'AI QUE MON AME
IL FAUT DU TEMPS
IL ETAIT TEMPS

All fab songs à mon avis and I'm British, not French!

GO FRANCE! ALLEZ LA FRANCE!!!!
Lee x

Well this is the coutry that brought us the woman on six foot stilts and the interesting scarf dance, so I shouldn't be surprised.

@ Kush Athens

I am French and I voted for the Jessica Garlick in 2002 but I was very surprised that France did not give a single point back to the UK as for the first time, the Brits gave us 10 points, the highest points we ever received from the other side of the channel. The reason is that back in 2002, both Jessica Garlick and Sandrine Francois were the front runners to win (along with Sweden & Germany) so I think that many French did not vote for either Germany, Sweden and the UK in order to maximize its potential to win. Even the TV commentators on France 3 said not to vote for these very good songs so we could stand a chance to get the prize but at the end, we all got fooled by Latvia and Malta.

Anyway, at least France has given 12 points to the UK several throughout its history since 1956, the very last time was in 1997 when you guys won.

The French song is OK nothing amazing
I can see UK giving it 4 points (since they never give UK any high points- recently- Look back at the scores in 2002)
But if they did perform under a snow dome, it would a lot better and easier to remember
