Lordi star in horror film

The sky is the limit for last year's Eurovision Song Contest winners, Lordi ,whose careers have skyrocketed since they held up the Greek column shaped trophy last May in Athens. Their cd sales have soared worldwide, they are the proud owners of their own restaurant and now Lordi return as the co-writers and stars of the multi million film production, Dark Floors. The band will also perform the theme song of the film.

Mr Lordi has co written together with Finnish writer Veli- Pekka Hänninen the script of Dark Floors, an american type slasher thriller with a sprinkle of Japanese style. The film is set in a hospital and the whole project was actually Mr Lordi's own idea. The film is estimated to cost around 4 million euros and it will be the first production of the new company that formed after the aquisition of a major part of Solar Films by Danish movie giant Nordisk Film. Apart from Lordi, the rest of the cast will be from the UK and the USA. Filming will start on May 7th but Lordi will join on the 14th, after the Eurovision Song Contest Final. The film will be promoted at the Cannes International Film Festival with a Lordi concert on May 20. The release date for Finland has been set for Friday, December 21.

This is not Mr Lordi's first attempt on the wide screen. He also played himself in the 2004 horror movie The Kin. We should point out, though, that Dark Floors is not the promised Lordi film that was supposed to be released in May 2006. The band just did not have enough time to realise this project.

lol Molly Parton - good one! xD

Who else thinks that Dark Floors is a slightly odd name? But man I can't WAIT for this - The Kin was great (although confusing and weird...)
Also I heard that there will be two versions. Like a censored one and another one. But it was in Finnish so I'm not sure about my translation. Woohoo dirty xD

Peter E: Why must you always be so rude? Just ignore topics about Lordi, like I ignore ones about that awful Vertigo woman/song. Youch...claws...

Go Lordi!!! You are the new Finnish national heroes... :)

And yes, of course they know they will fit well into a horror film... ;)

LOL.....a horror film seems like a natural step for Lordi. :)

Aleksi: I did point out - "outsiders". Or non-winners, shall we say, so that no one can "read" into the chosen wording.

As for the rest - we can nitpick all we like. People talk of her "acting" abilities - that implies some sort of a movie - or at least a faked orgasm. :-)

Severina did not win ESC, and an internet sex tape is hardly a movie, is it?

"Not many ESC winners have had their own movies."

Some outsiders have had them though, and very special movies they were. The Croatian girl last year, Severina, had a wide (albeit not entirely planned) internet release of her intimate yet passionate moments a la Hilton.

Some people reportedly liked what they saw, which is more than can be said for what people HEARD last year in Athens. Altough I personally liked it. The audio, I mean.

To be brutally honest I liked the video too.

Yeah, you're not the only one. It dosn't work for me either and other people have been complaining about it too.
