Easter in London with Fotis and Maria

Greece: Sarbel on Tour

The representative of Greece to this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, Sarbel will be visiting Turkey, England, Sweden, Cyprus, and Romania in the next days and weeks. He has already visited Russia and Bulgaria on the promo tour for his song Yassou Maria.

Sarbel started his promo tour last week. First stop - Russia. Afterwards he went to Sofia, Bulgaria’s capital, where he gave a lot of interviews and participated in numerous shows on several Bulgarian channels.

This weekend he is visiting Turkey, and next week he will be in London combining his promo tour with the Easter holidays. Sarbel was born and grew up in London where his family and relatives are living. But the promo tour doesn’t finish there. On the 14th and 15th April, Sarbel will visit Cyprus, his father’s country of origin.  He'll visit Sweden on the 16th -18th April, and at the end he'll stop in Bucharest, Romania on the 20th -22nd of April.

Sarbel will be accompanied on his visit to London by Fotis and Maria who have accepted ERT’s proposal to be the commentators for the Greek broadcaster for the semifinal and final to Helsinki. They are preparing a show that will be dedicated to Sarbel’s life and his promo tour of Yassou Maria.  The first part will be aired on the 16th of April by Greek National television, ERT. The whole show will have 4 parts with the last one taking place right before the big final.

Luca Andreev,
you and your propaganda are both disgusting and your comments have no business in this site. If you ask me, people like you should be banned. I am sure you can find different sites where you can discuss as much as you want your silly "history" tales.
And don't even think of replying with any of your stupid remarks because i am reporting you already to the moderators and then you are gone for good...greetings to fyrom...

I have to make a comment about the voting tactics.

To our friends from Turkey: It's very nice that Sarbel spoke and sung in your language during his visit there ( didn't know he could speak turkish either ) and probably that makes him look nicer to the people and he gets a lot of votes...but he should only get voted from those who actually like his song. And the same will happen from the greek side. The turkish songs will always get votes if the greek people like them.
But we cannot say " Turkey will vote for Greece but will Greece vote for Turkey? ". Well the answer to that is that yes Greece will send votes to all of the songs that the majority of the people like :) :) :)

Does anyone know a Sarbel record on YouTube where I can watch him singing on a Turkish TV? I never knew he would be on the air. If I knew, I'd have watched him.

to say that the greek people vote thinking only politics is completely stupid.
For example the greeks always vote for the best performances:
2001 12 points to ESTONIA (THE WINNER)

2002 10 points to LATVIA (THE WINNER)

2003 10 points to RUSSIA (3rd)
8 points to BELGIUM (2nd)
7 points to TURKEY (THE WINNER) Everyway that i can reached no1 and gold status

2004 8 points to SERBIA (2nd)
7 points to UKRAINE (THE WINNER)

2006. 12 points to FINLAND (THE WINNER)
10 points to RUSSIA (2nd)
8 points to BOSNIA (3rd)
7 points to ROMANIA (4th)

As you can see greek voting is ok and fair. Of course greece always vote for cyprus (the idea of two countries one nation and the fact that all the cypriot representatives are always famous and popular in greece) and for albania because at least of 10% of the citizens are albanian but in general we always vote for the best.

i watched that tv show too. He seemed so friendly so nice (by singing turkish songs and his accent too)
Turkey will give at least 8 points to Greece..since the song has Turkish Arabic Rythms....BUT will Greece give Turkey points??? I DONT THINK SO...hahaha maybe 2-or 3 points..??

Today he was in the ATV evening news.He sang a Turkish folk song and Yassou Maria. He was nice there. And tonite he was in a talk show where he sang many Turkish songs.I must say that I am really impressed by his pronounciation. He said that he has some Turkish relatives,he mentioned that he grew up listening to Turkish music. He knows some songs of a popular singer,Ebru Gundes.I think Turkey liked him as we did in 2004 for Ruslana!Good luck Sarbelaki,u will get high votes from Turkey!

drussus@

No, its not a swedish song, but a greek swedish song, the main composer is Alex Papaconstantinou, a greek swede and the other guy is a swede producer. The reason why Yassou Maria might remind a little of Elena's Gigolo song is because its written by the same composer, Alex Papaconstantinou who has written many of Elena's hits, including Mambo.

OKis swedish song, mixes Sakis with Ricky Martin....don`t know if it will win. Sounds like two different songs in one and seems to be overrated.

I watched him on the news and I was very surprised to hear a Turkish folk music from him.His pronunciation was great and he proved how he could speak some Turkish. That was cute!!!

I think he is a very warm and sympathetic man and this will make him get lots of points from Turkey. He is also a very good model of his country,I hope some people get lessons from him.

Now,I am waiting for the show that Sarbel will attend.Too bad it starts late, but I'm very determined to watch it!

Good Luck Sarbel, you will be voted by the Turks.
