Serebro plan strong Helsinki debut
Real, strong girls like us
Their entry, Song #1, is about "real, strong, beautiful girls who know what they want and always get the most out of life", explains Olga. And, just like anyone, real girls feel that pre-contest tension too. "Of course we're a little nervous" admits Lena. "It's our first concert and stage appearance, so I guess there will be nerves".
Soft metal
The contest is indeed a big step for the girls, who have been together for just a year now, and Song #1 and the Eurovision Song Contest have outted them as artists perhaps sooner than their producers had originally planned. The trio ended up together practially by chance, without the auditions and casting that usually precede the formation of many bands today. Lena met Russian pop mogul Maxim Faddeev four years ago, and with him set about forging a musical identity. Olga and Marina came along, and Maxim seized the chance to found Serebro, whose name (Silver in Russian) evokes the precious, soft metal the band like to identify with. The Eurovision song itself came about almost accidentally too, just like the band - a chance tune that "popped into Maxim Fadeev's head one day".
Lena is keen to point out that Maxim Fadeev is a man who chooses to work with people he has an affinity with, and that is the foundation for a great atmosphere between the band members. "Because of that, all his artists have something in common with him. That's why we're the perfect trio!"
Making time for living
Apart from singing, studio sessions and Eurovision Song Contest preparations, the girls have real everyday lives that they lead when they have the time. Marina is the real artist of the group, with a flair for oil-painting and pencil sketches, while Olga is Sporty Serebro, having led a really active life before the group started to take more and more of her time.

well done girls, great tune, in my top5!!!
this is an empty song, nothing spcial at all, worn out pop song, like 10000 of others before it..and i am afraid the live appearance is going to be a disaster..Dima Bilan was and still is great!!
ESC is not high art in pop music and girls` song is perfectly acceptable for this contest. Song is rhythmic, dancing and with drive. If 2006 winner are ORCS, why this years winner is not SEREBRO? Good luck, Russia!
first i didnt like it but now this has become one of my faves!!!
btw ''bad- ass- spinnin- for you'' part sounds like ''make- you- mine- a-gain'' from sertab lol
bad, stupid words, i bet they can not sing a word live and hope it will hit the bottom 20 of the contest...BAD!!
It´s not a winner, but I think Russia can score a top10 position this year. Since there is no live performance (obviously) it´s hard to tell.
You wanna know why Russia have chosen this song? The truth is that real masterpiece never won Eurovision. ESC is not that place where lyrics is important. It was proved many times, so why should they try smth. better? Russia have many talented singers and real stars, but they will never agree to participate in this contest.(the same as UK). So that's it.
The live performance will be crucial, but if it is something like parts of the entry video then Russia will be a strong contender this year. This is my favourite for ESC 2007. I have even got a Russian flag for Hartwall Areena in May!
Well... I think they will do it in the rehearsals
I love this song! One of the most modern ones this year. The fact that they've never performed before is quite a bad thing though... I hope they'll be natural talents!
Russia, you could have chosen something better, it's time to organise the national selection again so that the winner at least get a chance to perform on stage for the second and not the first time. Those girls might perform well in Helsinki although I seriously doubt that but sorry, it's the song I find completely uninteresting!
I love your profile Molly
And Nocturne was the best of the best xD
This song has some of the worst lyrics in the history of the world. It makes you realise what a good idea NOCTURNE was. Check this out:
Oh, don't call me funny bunny
I'll blow your money, money
I'll get you to my bad ass spinning for you
Oh, I'll make it easy, honey
I'll take your money, yummy
I've got my bitches standing up next to me
So come and check it (Uh)
So come and check it (Uh)
So come and check it
My bad ass spinning for you (Ow)
They have never been on stage before? Crikey, they are going to get roasted alive. Withdraw now before it's too late.
"you better stop you know what" LOL
they're simply amazing xDD
i like this song
think bands have little chance of winning the esc if they do not have a very special song. people tend to vote for one individual performer instead of sharing their votes amongst members of bands. (lordi was an exception they were out of this world loll) this is a girl-band and the song is very average. so, not a winner for sure...
i love this song soo cool one of my favs hope they do well! Go Russia!!
Don't get your knickers in a twist!
Exactly, hehe. It was meant as a compliment.
GO SILVABABES! I really want this to do well. Something cool and funky, at long last...Dima's peasant pop-rock was nowhere near this....sorry Bilan fans, nothing personal....
Top ten for sure but winning will depend on whether they can sing live.
@ Евро&# Афри&#
I think you need to calm down love. Don't get your knickers in a twist! I was only saying that the song was reminiscent of these artists style. Was I slagging the song off?
Good song. They are hawttt.
Oh and its people like Jamie UK and Owen Williams who are making the comparisons, they should just accept that Eastern Europe can be original in its own way without copying the British or Americans!
Why does everyone insist on comparing every eastern european singer or band on one from Britian or America!
Sopho Khalvaski = Madonna
Serebro = Sugababes
Koldun = Justin Timberlake
Good song Russia could do well!
Dima and 'Never Let u Go' in 2006 was much better.
But, good luck russia. I like this song.
This is a brilliant song. Sugababes with a hint of Britney. But can they sing?
Yeah, Russia will do very well this year too. Although lyrics are not wonderful, they are funny (you know WHAT LOL). I agree this song is nothins special but for some reason it's very catchy and I like it, so I hope it to achieve a good position in the Final. Good luck Serebro!
