Eurovision 2007: OGAE Norway voted

Last Saturday, the annual spring meeting of OGAE Norway was held in Oslo. The preview videos of all entries in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest were shown on a big screen and the members were asked to give out a total of 20 points in their own way to their favourite songs. Among the guest stars were Guri Schanke, who will represent Norway in 2007 with Ven a bailar conmigo and CRASH!, who finished third in Melodi Grand Prix 2007 with Wannabe. Their songwriter Teeny, who is a member of the band Wig Wam (Norway 2005), was also present.

The complete results of the voting:

  1. Greece 142
  2. Sweden 98
  3. Switzerland 93
  4. Iceland 89
  5. Slovenia 84
  6. Belarus 78
  7. Denmark 73
  8. Bulgaria 55
  9. Spain 49
  10. Cyprus 44
  11. Russia 43

  17. Serbia 32
  18. Belgium 26
  19. Finland 25
  20. United Kingdom 24
  21. Romania 21
  22. Bosnia-Herzegovina 19
  23. Czech Republic 15
  24. Malta 14
  25. Austria 11
  26. Hungary 11
  27. Latvia 10
  28. Ukraine 10
  29. France 9
  30. Israel 7
  31. Ireland 6
  32. Portugal 6
  33. FYR Macedonia 5
  34. Poland 5
  35. Albania 3
  36. Armenia 3
  37. Lithuania 2
  38. Montenegro 2
  39. Estonia 0
  40. Croatia 0
  41. Netherlands 0

With the Norwegian votes now cast, a total of 5 countries have already voted and the OGAE scoreboard now looks like this:

  • Belarus 36
  • Slovenia 36
  • Switzerland 35
  • Greece 29
  • Cyprus 22
  • Serbia 17
  • France 12
  • Germany 12

  • Bulgaria 9
  • Denmark 9
  • Russia 7
  • Iceland 7
  • Bosnia & Herzegovina 6
  • Spain 6
  • Turkey 3
  • Netherlands 2
  • Moldova 1

21, which means half of the competing countries have yet to score while on top of the ranking, it's getting very exciting: Belarus and Slovenia are now on first place with Switzerland only one point behind!

After a 14th place in Athens with the song Alvedansen by Christine Gulbrandsen, Guri Schanke will have to enter the semi final in Helsinki on 10th May.

Sarbel is very good, yassu Maria is catchy and well produced and orchastrated...and Norway seem to have a good taste :-) but i think on the big ight it wont give to greece more than 5 points..it is all about geography!!

I believe that at ESC the situation will be completely different, that Norway will give 12 points not to Greece but to their neighbours. And I hope that will be Denmark, in my opinion the best Nordic entry this year:-)

belarus at the top place ???????
how that ??? that song is nothing special and no winner !!!
but i see, that the people love slovenia, and that is a WINNING SONG !!!
and greece ??? no, i don´t think it has any chance because it is similar to sakis rouvas and please remember what happened to the cypriotic sakis-rouvas-clone in 2005.

finally a result list I can relate to... obvious that I'm from Scandinavia! But IMO Greece is not on top of the list, and Denmark not even close.

Netherlands has a strong song, sadly no performance... But it's not that bad...

> I'm still shure that SLOVENIA will WIN this year!

I'm still sure they won't!

> I think Malta will win this year.

I think it doesn't have a chance.

> As we go more western or northern, the polls lose contact with reality.

Yes, indeed.

> I cannot believe that the Netherlands are so low!

Netherlands has done very poorly in the polls this year. I like the song,
but my expectations for it have been lowered. :(

To those of you claiming this is "a joke" or "unrealistic" etc. I am norwegian myself. I have 7 of the same songs in my personal top 10. Guess it's just a matter of different taste... (and no, I do not like Malta this year, nore do I understand the fuzz about Serbia... I have Bosnia high up on my list... ). This was the votes from Norway - noone is claiming (or believing) this will be the final score. But I really do think the norwegian scores could be very much like this!

I cannot believe that the Netherlands are so low! Can't be worse than Treble last year!!!! Counting on a spectacular show by Edsilia because this is a joke Norway!!!

Greece at the top at a norwegian poll ? At least not the Ark but seriously, I am like Greece and many Greek ESC songs but this is just a RIcky/Sakis copy but Sarbel can`t mess with the originals. Plus the starting position is quite bad too, can`t see him win.

Yes, we probably will, Eurovision Sweden ;) Just for everyone's information, the Finnish OGAE's meeting is to be on 21 April (no, I'm not a member but happen to know), so wait for an interesting vote (if they will publish it here) :)
