Appeal decision due Monday
Exclusive: FYR Macedonia english application rejected
Karolina is desperate to sing part of the song in English but initially, the FYR Macedonia rules stated the performance had to be in their native language. After taking Karolina's views into consideration, taking soundings from the record company, other music experts and the fans, including the reaction to the song following the release of the English version, the delegation met and decided to formally apply to sing the second half of the song in English.
The EBU rejected the request with the view that at this late stage it would not be possible to change the language. Earlier this week, esctoday.com contacted the EBU to ask if a language change to part of the song would be allowed. Svante Stockselius told told us that "the participating songs can not be changed at all after they have been delivered at the HoD-meeting two months prior to the event. In some cases, after a formal request, we might allow some minor adjustments."
The FYR Macedonian delegation have appealed against this decision and are now awaiting a final decision. It remains to be seen whether the delegation can convince the EBU to allow 'some minor adjustments', and a decision is expected by monday.

Karolina will represent FYR Macedonia in the Eurovision Song Contest semi-final in Helsinki on May 10th after Elena Risteska took the country to 12th place in Athens.

Fair enough he doesnt have to like the song, and he is entitled to his opinion, but say it once and thats enough. We dont need to keep hearing this mediocre sh** he keeps telling us, and we get the point U LIKE VODA, we dont care go write about that in the Bulgarian forum.
BTW: Fair enough u still want to call the country FYROM, but the people there are macedonian whether u like it of not (notice the M in FYROM stands for macedonia) wtf is fyromian??

they've already released an album with all of the songs on it. My guess is that the language won't change on an official level.

Nema potreba od ubeduvanja so 2-3 ludaci za istoriski prasanja. Imaj vo predvid deka za da gi ubedis niv da te vikaat Makedonija e isto tolku tesko i nevozmozno kako sto bi bilo nevozmozno tie da ne ubedat nas da si se vikame bjrm. Zatoa, ne se nerviraj i ne se karaj na vakov nacin! Noone here said the Greeks had a problem with the Macedonian song except that Nicolas 100's times over and over again repeated the song is bs bla bla looking for moments to include that FYROM in his every single post.
And speaking of bad behaviors maybe you should address to your fellas(the Greeks) and try to solve it with them.

Apparently you don't get it.
I was not talking about Karolina's song i was talking about the Macedonian songs in the ESC business in general.
Remember when Karolina took part in ESC for the first time Elena Paparizou was interviewed in Greece by a foreign TV and among the songs she liked from that year's ESC she also mentioned "Depends on us".This is just an example.There lot of people in Greece that liked our songs but they never voted.
And one more questions just out of curiosity.
The people in the Greek Macedonia,what kind of passport they have,what is their nationality?
Does it say Macedonian on the passport,just wondering?

the official name of the country in the EU and the United nations is FYROM..anyway FYR Macedonia is almost the same, but for me and many others(not only greeks) the name Macedonia has another political, cultural and historical meaning than an ex or a now slav republic..capito? and stop commenting on everything i say, i will start taking this personally :-) and let us talk about entries in the contest: it is your right to like this song and it is my right to find it not good and believe that it wont even qualify....so let us draw a line here i am tired of all this talk about the fyromian entry!
