Top pop outfit for track
Stargate mix for Norway
Stargate, the production outfit behind Beyoncé and Shakira's current collaboration (at #3 in the US charts) and Beyoncé's track Irreplaceable, is responsible for the new mix of Ven a bailar conmigo which will feature on the forthcoming promotional single, along with a Deep Frost Mix of the track by the same producers. Also on the CD will be an East Remix track by Swedish artist Andreas Rickstrand, along with a karaoke version of the song.
Dancing with Guri
Team Guri, meanwhile, are in full swing of preparations for the Eurovision Song Contest semfinal on May 10th. National broadcaster NRK has announced that Guri Schanke will be joined by top dancer / singers Bjørn Holthe and Asmund Grinaker. Both men are seasoned Latin groovers, the first having won TV2's Skal vi danse (Shall we dance?) last year, and the latter being a professional dance teacher and Norway's current champion in standard and Latin dance. According to NRK, the delegation are planning a true Latino-fest on stage, which they hope will propel Norway to the grand final on May 12th.

then we should also start wondering: why is turkey sending an r'n'b style pop song? there are no antworts for this, each country can send what it likes, it is as simple as that....now the norwegian entry is cheerful, but not particular good, it cold make though some people swinging on the semis...definetely not one of my favourites this year, but it is not that bad, as many say..Good Luck Norway!!

I`ll tell you guy. Watch out for Norway this year. It won`t win, but i`m sure we will make it to the final. As an patriot i`ll go for Norway :-) The preformance we will see in Helsinki will be a better one that we saw in the national final. New dress for her, new dancers( one of the best latino dancers in Norway) and a new suprise in the act;-)....This can be good for Norway and i`m sure we`ll be in the final. Go Guri!!
I have no idea why people hate this song so much. I know it's not the most original thing, but I think it's nice and Guri seems to be very charming.

This is the worst entry from the Nordic countries! It´s AWFUL!
It'll take more than a remix to make this song better. How about scrapping the song and artist....

Of course they can. Remember Ireland last year had a mix that wasn't on the official CD, but a mix of two previous versions.

Why not? Do you remember Marie N? I am not happy with this years song. But... once again... WHY NOT? Why swedish final (Melodifestivalen) 2007 had a indian tune? Do you remember Marie N in 2002? It was not latvian tune. Do you remember Javine in 2005? It was not actually british tune or what?

I still can't understand that Marie N won in 2002. She was simply awfull. But it is just my personal opinion. And to be "Fake Marie N" song should be very very very very bad. And I really don't think that [i]Ven a bailar conmigo[/i] is SO bad!
I would have loved them to send Dusty Cowshits instead.

im with chi chi and melina... Norway is one of my fav esc countries but why do they send this fake latin sound? I really hope it wont qualify sorry but i cant stand this song!

There is a previous link between Stargate and the ESC: In 1999, one of the guys behind Stargate, Mikkel Storleer Eriksen, was the co-composer of "Living my life without you", together with Van Eijk. For the Norwegian final, he was credited as "SEM".
What`s the use of a " top pop outfit " for a non " top pop song " ? Make people forget about the song and just watch Guri change her dress ? Interesting strategy : all countries should do so to make sure that the ESC isn`t a song contest anymore. Oh well....
Well, definitely is not a bad song, and surely it will make some people even dance at semi-final, but i am afraid that it wont gonna pass to the final, because there many other songs which will stick on people's mind!Although, I think that it will be close to the top ten of the semi final (between 11-15)!
Oh well, she can't use the new mix anyway.

Mikkel SE is no newcommer to ESC though .. he co-wrote the lyrics for "Living my life without you".

Yes, Norway will stay in the semis this year I´m afraid... 
Who cares about understanding it??!! The fact is it's a great tune - I REALLY want Norway to do well this year and i think they will!!
there is not much more to tell, guri came second in the norwegian version of strictly come dancing. and thomas gson was asked to write a a song for her. and the result is this song, and it won the final in norway. the dance program was very popular, and lots of older people find this kind of program entertaining. and i think they were the ones who voted for guri.. hope we will think different next year, when we will enter the semi once again
