EBU partially overturns decision
Exclusive: FYR Macedonia: Last choruses in English!
As reported last week by esctoday.com, the FYR Macedonia delegation took the decision last week to change their language ruling after Karolina maintained that she wanted to sing part of the song in English. They requested that Karolina be allowed to sing the second half of the song in Enlglish. Similar decisions have been taken in the past by Israel in 2005 and Turkey in 2006. The EBU has agreed that the final three choruses can be sung in English, the new lyrics for the agreed Macedonian-English bilingual version song can be seen below.
The English version of the song helped push Karolina higher on the polls around the internet, and recent results prove that a song is far more likely to win the Eurovision Song Contest if at least part is sung in English. The only countries to win the Eurovision Song Contest in their native language with no English lyrics since 1991 are Norway in 1995, with only 5 lines of text, and Israel in 1998 which featured a chorus of internationally known names.

I don't like this, don't mind the language.
Such a BAD decision.. the lyrics in English seem so put into the music that it doesn't fit in anyway.. it ruins a perfectly good song!! But I'm still happy she doesn't sing the whole thing in English!

This is definetly the right decission!!! It sounds great and powerful in Macedonian, and for us who don't understand the Macedonian language there's a part in English!

I don't like the Scooch song or lyrics, but I am talking about how a languge 'flows' in a song. I am not talking about quality. I cringe at Scooch but for different reasons.
The quintessential Englishman in Todomondo says 'everything of me'... making it clear that he is not English at all. I'm surprised the Romanians didn't correct the English in their new version.
I have come, be it reluctantly, to accept the free language rule in Eurovision... but I will never care for bad English or English that simply doesn't flow. That is because it is my first language. I have a good working knowledge of French but don't care if the Cypriot song lyrics don't quite sound right to a Frenchman because I can't really tell if that is the case!
How original, I wished she would just do her job in Macedonian so I would not understand the crap she sings. Bad song, but since it has been promoted on the radio in all FYcountries (as for all Yugo-songs) it stands a chance unluckily (for great entries from Austria or Holland for instance)
