I really like the Finnish version, although I must say that some parts of the lyrics are a bit strange. I'm glad Serbia won!

"Molitva" is the best ballad this year. Marija has a great voice and I can see this song competing for the 1st place this year. There are many great songs this year, I think that the first songs will be very close to each other (like in 2003) and it will be a tough battle till the last voter! Good luck!

@ Melina *
You were right about the website you mentioned... It took me a while to get myself organized in Dutch(?) but it does support your claims.
ESCtoday stil claims differently. If a Dutch website is more accurate, I stand corrected. If not, we shlould alert the esctoday Team :-)
Take care, mate.

Maria will sing the whole ballad in Serbian, although in my opinion she sing nicely in English...but that doesn't even count.Russlana's terrible English wasn't obstacle for her to win!

I hope the new versions have been delivered to ESC radio, which loves to play alternative mixes and/or versions of songs. All dance mixes are quite radiophonic, as it happens.

I don't speak Russian so I can't judge Marija's accent and pronunciation, I suppose it's the thought that counts. Same stands for the Finnish version.

She'll sing in Serbian only, it's been decided long ago. ;)

Lyrics of the Finnish version:

Rukoilen (Author Jukka Väisänen)

Ei uneni saavu,
Vuoteeni vailla sua on.
En surusta toivu,
Minulla sielu romuna on.

En murheisin mielin
Voi koskaan olla onnellinen.
Ja sinua mietin,
Kun olet rakkauden arvoinen.

Kiusaava sielun haava,
Surulleni voimaa antaa
Ja juuri suru suuri,
Tuskaani kantaa.

Rukoilen, vaikka toive muuttuu nimeksesi,
Rukoilen, rakkaudesta juuri vuoksesi.
Rakasta, haluan
Sun luonas olla (vain) ja ainoastaan,
Rakasta, niin haluan,
Siksi vuoksesi rakas toivoen
Rukoilen.

Suurelle Luojalle
Valehdella voi en koskaan.
Aidosta rakkaudesta
Luovu ei kukaan.

Rukoilen, vaikka toive muuttuu nimeksesi,
Rukoilen, rakkaudesta juuri vuoksesi.
Rakasta, haluan
Sun luonas olla (vain) ja ainoastaan,
Rakasta, niin haluan,
Siksi vuoksesi rakas
Rukoilen.

Rakasta, haluan
Sun luonas olla (vain) ja ainoastaan,
Rakasta, niin haluan,
Siksi vuoksesi rakas toivoen
Rukoilen.

Vuoksesi rakas rukoilen

@ Leo, I checked at url=http://www.eurovisionartists.nl/]http://www.eurovisionartists.nl//url]
and I was right, last year Finland gave 12 to Russia and 10 to Bosnia-Herzegovina! :) You were right about 2004 though.
You can check it yourself, go to the address above and choose the right year, then click on 'Puntetelling'!

@ Leo Jones, you may be right about 2004, but I'm positive that last year Finland gave the 12 points to Russia (not Sweden)! I don't remember about the 10 points, but I will have to check it somewhere...

Does anyone know where to find the Russian and Finnish lyrics?

Leo Jones [13850]

@ Melina *
Nope, you got it slightly wrong. :-) Finnish "douze" went to Sweden in 2004, "Lane Moje" got only 10 pts. They awarded Sweden with ten points last year in Athens while Lejla got the coveted 12 pts.

Eventhough we cannot really avoid neighborhood voting (Sweden was a lucky one there) Finland does "look outside the box" and is not that predictable. Finns share votes where votes are due and do not stick only to their immediate neighborhood.

Personally, I have nothing against neighborhood voting as I feel it is normal. Besides, good songs always receive points all over the board. That is something commercial pop/disco tunes don't manage to do at all. (Thank God for that)

sometimes language is not a barrier and in this case the sentiments of the song work for me in serbian , although it was nice o hear the english version , im glad it will be sung in serbian . since watching the eurovision as a child every year since 1975 , i found that as i have matured i appreciate the diversity of europe so much but as a child i found it very funny listening to other languages . my point here is that anybody over the age of 25 who thinks that they cant appreciate songs in other languages are truly childlike . i now sing various songs in other languages in my cabaret and i love it . mark stewart manchester.ps if anybody would like a recording of me singing in italian let me know your email and i will send it to you :) . it would be goood to know what you think .

I would be the first to say that we don't have any chances with our enrty if it was the case, but I am so sure that Maria will be top of the tops this year!We finally have a song and a singer to support with all our hearts! The whole Serbia will be with Maria on the 12th of May(and the 10th) just like it happened in 2004 with Zeljko!
Good luck ,Maria!Show them what you can! ;)

Maria and her team have been preparing their visual performance for such long time and I am sure that is going to be very special. They waited to present their video right after everyone else do.I hope it's not to late.Because videos from Balkans are always ahead of the others.Just remember "Lane moje"...TRUE ART.The beautiful thing about Serbian entries is that they are always in Serbian,of course they never get votes form Ireland or Estonia but they keep their identity.2004 winner-in English,2005-in English, 2006-in English.Eurovision should never become Commonwealth song contest!

@ Leo Jones: "I remember Finland awarded "Lane moje" with 10 pts and "Lejla" with 12 pts. These were not immigrants voting. Finnish fans should be be thanked somehow if possible."

Actually, if I remember right, it was the other way round, Lane Moje got 12 and Lejla 10 (Finland's 12 points last year went to Russia... So much for "Nordic bloc voting" ;) :)

It's interesting that some of you say the Finnish version sounds like the language of elves :) I'm listening to it right now, and Marija has so strong an accent (obviously, since it's not her native tongue :)) that it sounds very intriguing to me too, even though it's my native tongue ;) But I think it's great for them to having gone through this trouble, I don't think no one has ever done that before in ESC..!
