Sarbel, The Ark and DJ BoBo top Demandi poll

With 2500 votes so far Greece and Sweden lead Demandi's English-speaking poll, while Switzerland leads the French and German-speaking one.

In the same polls, voters get the chance to have their say on some of the issues they feel passionate about, such as whether there is political voting at the Eurovision Song Contest or whether a good performance can win regardless of the country's affiliations. 54% of the voters believe that the voting is "slightly political", 34% of all participants think that the best performance on the night will win and 30% don't think that there are any behavioural patterns allowing the winner to be predicted.

As the Eurovision Song Contest is probably the world's most viewed music show, ranking higher that the Grammy Awards, 58% of the voters think that the event brings Europe closer together.

Here are the results of the Demandi poll so far:

English-speaking participants' top five:
1) Greece & Sweden (both with 50%)
2) Switzerland (49%)
3) Serbia (46%)
4) Belarus (45%)
5) Cyprus (38%)

French and German-speaking participants' top five:
1) Switzerland (38%)
2) Greece (32%)
3) Sweden (29%)
4) Ukraine (28%)
5) Cyprus 26%)

@Alex Alex:

i hope you are right, mate! because i really wish Malta won this year the contest..i have become a "vertigo addict", i just love this song and i can not stop listening to it..No other entry of this year contest or any previous ones had had such a big impact on me...it is the tune, the music, the words and Olivia's voice......I wish pre polls and odds got almost everything wrong this year.for examle from these three leading songs on the demandi poll, i only like Greeces entry a lot(and this mainly due to Sarbel, he is such a talented and down to earth singer)...but for me noone of these three entries should really win....anyway let us hope Malta with its results will surprise them all ;-)

@ nikolas. FInland was underrated last year, and so were the Olson Brothers, and so was sertab.

Personally, I feel Malta will sail into the final and be in the top 5. My friend in Croatia did not even listen to the song, because he said he did not know Malta, and voted for Switzerland. Now, tht he has bothered to listen to it, he thinks it could easily be the winner. It is a funny world!
