Be the member of the official UK Stand-by jury

BBC is in search for eight members of the official UK Eurovision Song Contest stand-by jury. They need “eight good men and women”, young or just young at heart to volunteer and perhaps leave their own trace in the Eurovision Song Contest history.

How to apply? Just click the link here and fill in the short questionnaire. Ideally, voluteers for the jury will need to be available on Thursday 10th May and Saturday 12th May.

The stand-by jury votes will be used only if something goes wrong with televoting. The ones that are selected to take part is such a demanding job will have the opportunity to watch both semi-final and final dress rehearsals live at the BBC television center in West London on Thursday May 10th (Semi-final) and Saturday May 12th (Final).

Interested? If so be quick, the deadline to apply is Friday 27th at midday.

@ Simon Clifford, yes, that's sad, but why do you sau "thank god" for them..? I wish Russia had won that year...

Does anyone know, will other countries have back-up juries too? Because I haven't seen such "ads" seeking back-up jury members for any other country. Maybe they do it internally ;)

Shame I have a French Oral Exam on that day :( so there isn't much point in me applying!
Oh well there is always next year!

Great fun ?! Do you watch it on a big shiny tv with nice cusion chairs? Or do they just shove you all in a small room like sardines?

The Dutch used a standby jury in 2000. Oh, and if the people or Ireland voted in 2003, Jemini would get 1 ironic little point!

I was a UK Jury member in 1986! We gave Germany its only 12 points that year.... Great fun at BBC TV Centre though...

Thank god the the Irish jury in 2003, something went wrong there, and the jury gave no points to Russia, hence preventing a Tatu victory!
