Vertigo TV promotion
Olivia hits MTV Europe
The special 30-second promo clip will be based on the Vertigo music video, and feature night scenes from around Malta along with the track itself. Culture and Tourism Minister of Malta, Dr Francis Zammit Dimech, earlier today announced the deal between the Ministry, MTV's Maltese representative EuroMedia Ltd. and Maltasong, suggesting that both Malta's tourist industry and Olivia will benefit from the promotion. "I really feel that this sort of marketing can do a great deal of good to Malta and to Olivia as well."
Decent exposure
Despite the shortness of the promotional clip, the music channel will nonetheless take a little bit of Vertigo into millions of Europe-wide homes before the semifinal, and hopes are high that the extra exposure will help propel Olivia from the semifinal to Saturday's grand final on May 12th. Olivia herself, also at the launch press conference, looks at the deal as a win-win situation, keeping her feet firmly on the ground: "I'm delighted that this is happening. If we really manage to promote Malta using Vertigo, it would be the best possible result achieved irrespetive of how we do in the Eurovision Song Contest".
The singer has written about her joy at the deal on her personal blog, which you can read at this link . "It had been on the tip of my tongue for ages" she writes. "My fingers were itching to type it down in my blog. But my lips were sealed. An agreement has been struck to promote Malta using Vertigo. Yahoo!" Expect to see Vertigo on MTV Europe soon.

it is just that i love this song, it stroke a cord im me from the very first hearing..and some months after it still does everyday a bit more..i have now heard many times all of the songs of this ESC and Vertigo is the best and you can even tell this from the first 10 seconds..and it was first the song that impressed me so much and later the personality of Olivia and the attention, which maltese people pay to the ESC..i like this a lot, i take this contest also seriously and that is why i do not like when gimmick monsters or club Vampires or drunken clown wannabe Drag queens score well...anyway let us talk about music: Vertigo, no matter what the outcome will be is a very good and well "rounded" song that goes right through to your heart and to your senses...i hope that many viewers of the contest are gonna feel this way too and we will ahve the pleasure to hear and watch this great song twice(and with a bit of luck 3 times)....but it will be hard for Malta i think, since it doesn't benefit from any voting bloc and it has to relly on the 3 minutes live performance of the night...i hope Olivia and Vertigo will charm the voters on this big night..i mean it happened to me, why not then to many others?? All the besty to the best entry of this ESC!

of course i am not dead, i am very alive and kicking....and sure I know Olivias personal blogspot, i visit it every day(with my other nick, "BARBARINO" :-)......that is where i also discovered what a nice and down to earth person Olivia is....but not only there..a lot of signs and moves of her tell me that she is a very nice person besides being a great singer...
together i had the chance to watch a big part of the "Xarabank" show held in Malta(but not all, because i had already planned to go out) and i saw Olivia live a lot and other people who are famous in Malta...it is funny, because i could not understand a word(i must say here that i find the maltese language very nice, kind of smooth arabic with some italian words and melody), i could see what a wonderfull person Olivia is...and i could understand the topic of the discussions.....you could also see her parents(to me she looks more like her father( who were very proud of her and she was very touched by some words of them..she even sang a part of Vertigo acapella, that was good....and today i discovered tha she(and i suppose many other maltese too) have also a good sense of houmor..various singers and comedians would present their funny version of vertigo and she could really and spontaneously laugh with it.....
not only vertigo is great but this singer is very good too..i hope she does manage to qualify, but in any case i 'm sure she is going to give her best on the semis and we will be able to enjoy Vertigo live....and who knows, if Vertigo is gonna touch the viewers of the ESC as it has touched me and many others, then perhaps we are gonna celebrate Valetta 2008 with Cra-zee on ESC and other nice maltese people......where there is passion, there is hope and a way......i wish Olivia all the luck for the semis.....

well it really IS strange that no Bar in Berlin has advertised the event yet hehe. If u were in Malta it surely wouldn't have been a prob because on the night everyone shows it here from the tiniest bar to the biggest pub hehe! Maybe who knows, next year u will b in our Island 2 watch next year's Final with us Maltese 
& WE will all welcome u im Sure!

most probably i am going to watch this at some friends of mine in berlin from lithuania....they organise each hier a drink and aN ESC party on both nights...if not i will go to a club, but believe me or not, in such a big city like Berlin i haven't found yet any ad for a big party for the ESC at clubs..but no way i am not gonna miss the finals, i want and i long to see Olivia and Vertigo live and the rest of the shw of course.....my greetings to your very nice country!!

i have no tv, because i think tv wastes your time and you spend hours in front of it doing nothing......i used to have one(like every normal person, even a satellite one, so that i could watch greek programms here in berlin), but since i moved 1and a half year ago i do not have any...and since then i am wasting my time im internet instead:-)........

Vertigo….Vertigo… just a great and powerful song! From all the songs of ESC2007 only this trills me on! Olivia is so powerful and I think she will enchant everybody in the semifinal and hopefully also in the final night! I only cross my fingers for the beautiful island of Malta so that for the first time ever the ESC will be host in its beautiful surroundings! And yes, I am more than sure that if Malta hosts the contest it will be the most beautiful and fascinating ever.

Malta definitely deserves to be in the finals this year because it's obvious how much effort the Maltese have made this year to send a good song:-) Also the video is excellent!

very friendly and pleasant....and i promise, if Malta does win the contest, then next year i will be there for the conteat(this will be my second one live..)..but even if this doesn't happen(i wish it wil, but as a friens stated below, we have to put our feet to the ground, the competition is hard and very unpredictable and the polls are not very optimistic about Vertigo, well not yet,) i will try to visit Malta, at least once...all my friends who have been there, say only good things about your country...

thanks for your very nd :thanks", but really no need to say it....i support vertigo from my heart, and this gives me some pleasure together with hearing this wonderfull song....and really if i had any spare money i would fly to Helsinki to support this entry even more...but i can't...i will try to do it with my mind and by voting for it a lot......i really hope that she will do very well there..she has a good support from her team...i hope also that some maltese fans will manage to travel to Helsinki, this helps always the artists(i know this back then from Helena in 2005)..although i know, finnlnd is far away from Helsinki and kind of expensive...anyway all "vertigo-addicts" of Europe united with our minds and our hearts on the semi final night....i wish for Malta and Vertigo all the best....

not exactly platonic this love, but it is very strong, it goes both sides (lol!), but it is somehow a love with many obstacles due to problems of ethic and metality from the other side..and so it comes and goes almost daily, for over one and a half year now and as i said it gives me a lot of vertigo, i am almost done.....

The farewel concert will be on saturday 28th april, it will not be shown on television...to see the show u have to go there and pay for it.

In that programm Olivia is going to do a performance, almost the same as the one in the semifinal. There will be a group of 4 people (commedians) who redid the video of vertigo! And also olivia, Philip Vella(the composer) and Gerard James Borg (the author) went for a day in the army, I have seen the preview of it and it looks funny.....it is nice seeing Olivia doing other things.
I like this song and I really love Malta. I lived there for some time and know how important the ESC is for the Maltese. Therefore, I would be delighted if Malta won the ESC.
I just hope that Olivia learns to move onstage until the semi-final ...
