OGAE Netherlands plump for Marija

Dutch money on Serbia

Serbia nudges ahead once again with a welcome douze points from the Netherlands in the latest OGAE preview result to be added to the mix.

Dutch fans, just like their counterparts all over Europe, have voted in both a mock semifinal and final event, and Serbia won on both counts. In the final, Big Four country Germany lies just behind the Serbian victor Marija Serifovic, with Switzerland's DJ Bobo some way behind in a distant third place.

The Dutch top ten for the final was as follows:

  1. Serbia 123
  2. Germany 119
  3. Switzerland 84
  4. Denmark 83
  5. Ukraine 77
  6. Bulgaria 75
  7. Cyprus 69
  8. Russia 62
  9. Slovenia 59
  10. Greece 59

The successful ten from the semifinal were ranked as follows:

  1. Serbia
  2. Switzerland
  3. Denmark
  4. Bulgaria
  5. Cyprus
  6. Slovenia
  7. Malta
  8. FYR Macedonia
  9. Moldova
  10. Turkey

Converting these scores to the ubiquitous 1-8, 10 and 12 points, they alter the overall OGAE mix as follows:

  1. Serbia    118
  2. Switzerland    116
  3. Belarus    94
  4. Slovenia 89
  5. Cyprus    89
  6. Bulgaria 71
  7. Greece    71
  8. Ukraine    69
  9. Georgia    43
  10. Russia    39
  11. Germany    36
  12. France    35
  13. Bosnia & Herzegovina    32
  14. Iceland    31
  15. Denmark    29
  16. Romania    21
  17. Spain    21
  18. Sweden    16
  19. Turkey    15
  20. Latvia    12
  21. Armenia    11
  22. FYR Macedonia    9
  23. Moldova    8
  24. Israel    7
  25. Lithuania    7
  26. Netherlands    6
  27. Finland    4
  28. Hungary    2
  29. Poland    1

Serbia regains its lead thanks to the Dutch douze, whilst Big Four nation Germany nudges closer to the top ten, replacing France as the highest placed of the Big Four. Denmark's highest points so far keep them in 15th place, although within reaching distance of the top ten for the first time. Thirteen countries have yet to score.

MY Top 10 Songs:

12pts - CYPRUS or GREECE (L) (L) (L)
10pts - Iceland (L) :)
.8pts - Bulgaria
.7pts - Georgia
.6pts - Belgium
.5pts - Belarus
.4pts - Switzerland
.3pts - Turkey
.2pts - Israel
.1pts - Andorra

Although, the above are MY favorites,
I also really like the SONGS that will represent
Spain, Estonia, Germany, Croatia and Slovenia!
The British entry may have grown on me,
but it is NOT a winner.

I miss songs from Italy! :) Am I the only one?
Well, I loved Romania's 'Tornero' at the
ESC 2006 ATHENS and happen to like this
year's song from Latvia. I wonder why ...

Good luck to all 42 SONGS!!!!

BEST OF LUCK TO SERBIA AND THE NETHERLANDS!!

Ooops! I must re-work my Top 10 list,
the Dutch entry should be in it ...

Hi ! , Once again , with this Contest , i`m amazed that certain countries songs are being `overlooked` & that most of the songs that are `in the lead` or are considered to be the `best` - i feel are abysmal ! , I almost feel as if , i`m listening to a `different contest`...The far and away `best` song - surely has to be the Netherlands entry ? , and as for the others i like , Austria , Belgium , Germany , Estonia , Hungary , Lithuania , Norway & Slovenia ....does anyone else like these ?, or is it just Swiss , greek et al ? I agree with the vast quantity of people on here.

As much as I like Scooch and their entry, you cannot genuinly tell us that this is them singing!

The only one that actually sings their solo is Natalie, because its in english!

I'm sure Serbia will gather a lot of points, the problem is that the song doesn't knock off until it reaches the flute interlude midway through it. It is not a winner, but that you may say of almost all of the entries this year.

Great. Serbia has a beautiful song. Of course on the night itself our 12 points go to Turkey, but I can imagine my fellow-countrymen voting for "Molitva". It would be great if a Balkanballad would win for the first time.

Yes Serbia at #1 :-) Love that song! Germany is lovely too...and i really hate the entry of Ukrain :P

@ Mark wood

Yes i saw the live performance of Dj Bobo, he peformed with a live band which was different but really cool :) But the voices of Dj bobo and that woman were weak!! Im sure they will have a great act on stage but if they sing it like this, its NO FINAL for Switzerland!

last year greece voted as follows: FINLAND 12 WINNER
RUSSIA 10 2ND
BOSNIA 8 3RD
ROMANIA 7 4TH
This year im sure that will vote CYPRUS 12
BULGARIA 8 OR 10
SERBIA 8 OR 10
BELARUS 7
I THINK SERBIA BULGARIA SWITCHERLAND AND I HOPE SWEEDEN (MY FAVOURITE WITH PORTUGAL) WILL FIGHT TO WIN.

did anybody else see dj bobo on german tv live jeeeez it was terrible and i had predicted third place for him but now oh my word i doubt he will make final . the song is only good in video format wow such a shock . how many more acts are going to look awful and sound awful on stage . im now feeling more optimistic about uk not getting nil points at least most of polls have been done watching their live performance .
