Stage progressing fast
The stage: Photographs and video
As eurovisiondiary kindly explains the Matrix backdrop is all set. There are two openings, one on each side. The artists will be entering from the left one, while the props from the right. The catwalk will be covered with 45 square meters of O'-te which reflects the light.

Indeed. AMsterdam was AMazing.
Fine stage for Finland, but not GRrrreat!
The stage IS very low, isn't it!? I mean, it's only 20cm. from the ground... it might look great on TV, but it's not that good for the audience, specially those at the back of the arena. I do like the massive screen behind the stage tho'!

Interesting, Luka Andreev has seen this years stage ready already? ...grow up man..
No i am saying that because I am drunk.
Go Edsilia. Go.
My favourite of recent times was Riga. In fact there were many lovely aspects to that year. The stage looks smallish, but that could be a good thing. All too often artists look lost on a vast expanse of glass that is geared towards big routines. Some performers simply rely on the song.
And I am not saying that because I am Dutch.
Go Netherlands. Go go go go go go go go. Go Edsilia. Netherlands the best stage ever.
The best stage ever was Amsterdam 1970. Nothing beats Amsterdam 1970. ;-))))))))
ISTANBUL 2004 THE BEST!
Brighton 1974 was an awful stage, so was Stockholm 1975. But Jerusalem 1979 was wonderful. And I'm sure Helsinki will be great too.
Istanbul & Kiev were dreadful............
Athens & Riga were WONDERFUL..........

I'm NOT so confident 'bout this year's ESC..........
It looks simple & uninspiring.......
Nth new.....
were is goin to be the audience?
the stage looks too close to the ground...
Oh and not because I am Dutch.
By the way, the stage in The Hague 1976 was great too. ;-)))))
Best stage ever: Amsterdam 1970. The first modern stage, setting new standards for the seventies. The whole contest in fact was a landmark for the future, with for the first time an introduction movie and postcards.

FEEL THE SUN
Athens 2006, the best stage ever: high tech but plain in design with the ethnic traditional element of the ancient amphitheatre, changeable from song to song and with a superb lightening that ESC had never seen before...do you remember for example how the whole stage turned through the lightening into a dark night full of stars for the great Leyla-song? or how it became totally red when Tina Carol was on stage? or then transformed into a cosmopolitan disco full of stars and diamonds for Turkey's Superstar? great stage this of Athens..and people who were there said it looked even better from inside the venue...Greece has done a great job with hosting the contest and almost noone says it..anyway....i think the best ever wold take place in Malta, if it gets the chance...maltese are big fans of the contest and they take it very seriously and they have been long waiting for a victory..so why not Valetta 2008?? :-)
@ Zohar Rashit
They must figure that the catwalk enables better camera shots, if that's its purpose. I don't think it's going to be as big as the term "catwalk" brings to people's mind. Even without it, an area would have to be reserved for the tv crews that would take up seats from close to the stage. Besides, as everyone seems to be complaining how small the stage is, it would suggest that the stage area isn't taking up that many seats from the arena.
Can someone explain what the economic logic of building a catwalk into the audience where the most expensive seats are sold ? That catwalk probably takes up (with the camera and security zone around it) atleast 100 seats which could be sold in the finals (alone) for 250E each.
Figure the maths out yourself....
I think the stage is very important... how would it look like if there was just a black background with some stars??
It is quite small no originality at all...not impressed at all.
Best stage so far was that of TURKEY in 2004
Latvia Riga 2003 BEST STAGE EVER
