The Beogradska Arena
The home of ESC 2008?
The venue certainly seems to meet all modern criteria and is highly developed on a technological level. The architect of the Arena is Vlado Slavica, who designed a complex building contain three object: big hall (arena), smaller hall and parking area. Size of big arena is 48.000 m2 in six floors with capacity of 20.000 visitors.
The arena features 68 luxury areas with 768 seats and VIP saloon, has a pre-built interview area with 38 seats for interveiws, television links and more. The existing press center can host 250 acreditated journalists and would need to be much larger, but the car-park could be used to build a tent press centre similar to the one used in Kyiv in 2005.
The arena plays host to a variety of sport events, music concerts and could well be the home of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest.

Are you uneducated or are you just being ignorant? Serbia has similar language like Croatia and Montenegro, but very different from Macedonian and Slovenian (they cannot understand each other).
im sure that this is goiging to be the greatest eurovision ever BELGRADE 2008
The Sava Centar is more luxurous and widely better for the sound-proofing.
The stadium looks nice.
Probably
Portugal will start a new contest with all countries than have portuguese as oficial language: Brazil, Portugal, Angola, Cape Verde, Moçambique, etc... etc...
Spain will do the same: festival OTI (only countries than have spanish as oficial language...)

Belgrade 2008 ?
We will talk about it again if the Big 4 decides to cut down the finances next year.
Since You, former ex-Yogos, wanted the show so badly, why don't you share the cost of next year's contest? You're 6 after all and maybe 7 if Kosovo becomes independent! I’m beeing sarcastic on that one!
mad-msc; Accept that Serbia has won, pls keep your bitterness for yourself! And believe me, if so there only were ten screens in Serbia, they would put them on the stage! Serbia will for sure give all their best next year. Good Luck!
THE WHOLE WORLD IS WELCOME TO BELGRADE NEXT YEAR !!!
I congratulate Marija for the BIG victory. As I have heard, the Western countries have won the contest 47 out of 52 times(!!!!)Maybe it's time to let the Eastern part make their voices heard...
SHE WON FOR US!!!
WELCOME TO BELGRADE 2008!!!!
I am sure Serbia will organize a very good ESC next year in that big arena. If I make it there, I might as well do a whole balcan tour at once
CONGRATULATIONS SERBIA
Oh, my God, I can't beleive what people thinking about Belgrade...and they never been there.
Dangerous city...ridiculous....LOL
sorry about the doubt but from finland to serbia there are a lot of difference it would be a steep or a long walk back lets see how they distribute the ten screens and lights that they have in the hole country...
congratulations but we want more justice next year or do you think spain deserve 20th place??? eurovision will finish as soon as east countries leave be sure
Isn't it strange that every country that wins ESC has a suitable venue? Is it just good luck? I don't say that EBU cheats, but Malta has been close many times, but never won-and they don't have a venue.
OK.
Frst of all, thanks europe on your votes!
My country is frst, and we were the best.
We will be the good organeiser, you will see.
Now , i wont to sey few words about us.
We are one litle but picefuul people.
The Belgrade people are wery nice.
We dont have violence in city.
Everybody who wont to come next year to Belgrade will bi surprised. We have the best night life in whole Europe (becouse of that people from Croatia and Slovenia comes to Belgrade and Novi sad, every vikend) so the stories about murduring croats in the midle of the day in centre of Belgrade, are one more lie. So dont be affraid with that stories, come and you will see the best city, best music, best food, and most beautiful girls on the world. And for the record, our new arena on the new part of Belgrade, is the bigest in Europe, so dont be woried about that !!!
Meybee we are smal country, maybee we dont have money, bat still for the many of you are countries , we are civilisation!
Bye From Sunny Belgrade.
I'LL GO TO BELGRADE 2008 AN I KNOW THAT IT WILL BE GREAT!
CONGRATULATIONS, SERBIA!
Ako pobedi Makedonija... sto nema da se sluci vo bliska idnina... Evrosong ke bide vo salata Boris Trajkovski! Ako uste se gradi, do dogodina ke bide gotova! :-)
KAKOV METROPOLIS...
Belgrade is one of the safest places in the world! There was no any terrosrist attacks like in London, New York, Madrid... People are friendly and warm...and I reckon many of you will form great friendships/relationships in Belgrade.
COME TO BELGRADE, YOU ARE ALL WELCOME!!!
2008 - hopefully the holiday of your life!!!
I was just wondering, does a stadium have to meet certain minimum requirments to host eurovision? what are they?
Alan; You are riddiculus... This is 2007, it's over ten years since the Balkan wars, and Belgrade isn't more dangerous than London, Copenhagen or any other European metropol.
Nemke and Kristina ,
you know very well where those evil comments come from , so you shouldn't be paying attention . He has 15 new accounts . with different flavour names - anglosaxonic , latin , scandinavian , just to make us think that Europe hates us .
Poor thing !
2009 Skopje !!! Who arena ??
TOO ALL MACEDONIANS : AKO BIDE EVROZIZIJATA VO MAKEDONIJA , SKOPJE U KOJA ARENA ??? METROPOLIS ??
Alan you moron (are you croatian? bosnian? nazi?? or just hateful??) I feel so much safer in Belgrade than I feel in Oslo, in Oslo I am constantly afraid because of the new rape-wave we have here, and every weekend someone is murdered in a club or something, at and still Oslo is concidered to be one of the safest city of them all. in oslo we have about 500 000 inhabitants, belgrade has about 2 000 000 (a littlebit less) and it's safer!! grow up, come and see for yourself, and THEN judge!!
Alan you are an ignorant fool, your words are the image of your stupidity!
Belgrade is as safe as any other big European city! The croatian guy was shot coz he did something as you dont get people shot everyday in the streets!
No-one mentiones the serbian busses being destroyed, serbian houses burnt...
But then morons like you come to forums like this one and spread their stupidity!
And thats why i am happy there is going to be Eurovision in Belgrade so that we can show people like you what does serbia really look like!
Mention how in Bosnia and Croatia very few serbian churches have been re-built, or no serbs have returned to their houses!
They are constantly attacked!
Next time just make sure what you are saying is correct!
Sounds expensive. I hope Serbia and the Eastern bloc have plenty of cash to spend on arenas when the Big4 bow out.
Cst; Helsinki made a much better ESc than your home city Athens, so did Kiev, and so will Belgrade do.
