Verka sang Russia Goodbye?

It seems clear that Verka Serduchka sang 'Russia goodbye' during the performance of the Ukrainian song during last night's Eurovision Song Contest. In the third repetition of what should be 'Lusha Tumbai' it seems very clear, even with a rolling 'r' when pronouncing 'Russia' on the way to a second place finish in the event.

The act prompted severe political reaction when it won the national final in Ukraine in March, with reports of rioting against the song. The words had to be changed to conform to the Eurovision Song Contest rules, which do not allow political lyrics that name specific organisations, countries or people.

If the EBU investigates this and finds that Serduchka did break the rules of the competition, they may decide to fine the Ukrainian broadcaster or remove points from the Ukraine, which could result in them dropping into the semi final.

The words did not seem to effect the Russian viewers, who awarded the strange celebrity 8 points, behind Armenia with 10 and the Russian Star Academy winner, Koldun with 12 points.

Yeah, let's cut the gas to Ukraine! (ESC don't write an article on my suggestion). PLEASEEEEEEE. HELLOOOOOO! Was a joke (for those who take the jokes very seriously) ;)
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHHAHAH

Well I think that the Song was a message to the Eurovision, meaning: "Guys where are u heading at? ESC has become such a joke, so we can even entry such songs"

Ukraine was the best on giving the message.

I propse the ESC to be called JSC (Joking Song Contest)

Even if he sang "Russia goodbye", I wonder what he'd mean by that...

Are you still on about this Russia-Lasha goodbye-Tumbai mess?
Well, if so:
1. Watch the promo video where his mother asks the question at the end and liste to his answer.
2. Get a life.
3. Do step number 1 and 2, first!

Well, it is knwown that Russia and some ex URRS coutries are like cat and dog... So, it would'nt be a suprise if Verka sang "Russia goodbye." I didn't hear the word "goodbye", but yes "Russia".

Anyway I think it's the EUB who'll have to make a search about that and make a decision.

I heard "Russia Goodbye" in this particular part too.

Ukraine's song is very popular over here in Ireland. Today, the Monday after the ESC 2007, a DJ on a very popular radio station played it as it was the most requested song on his show! I can guarentee it would reach number 1 if it was released in the charts here. Its probably already available for downlowd!

Who cares what he sang? His performance was pure genius. I'm happy for Serbia but a big part of me wanted Verka to win, if only to antagonise all these whinging moaners who can't bear to see the east beating the west at their own game. Verka was charm personified.

"Russia goodbye"? Oh please, what codswallop. It's very, very clear that the guy sang "lasha tumbai." People, stop trying to cause trouble over such a silly little song.

Besides, even if he did sing "Russia goodbye," how on earth can you take a bloke with a gigantic star on his head seriously??

Congrats Serbia...Bulgaria...Russia

I think Macedonia was good as well, should have reached higher on the list.

I don't like the Ukrainian song, I didn't vote for it and I don't think that I will listen to it at any radio station this summer but I must say it is funny and the show was funny too.

Isn't this a contest for fun? Then come on! Let's have fun instead of criticising this or that :-)

you all take eurovision too seriously. this was a good act, kept me stuck in front of the tv and i could sing it hours after it was played.

mind you, i like serbia most, but this one had a fun factor

You bad losers, want to gain some places just because you don`t accept that many people across Europe liked Verka's show!!! Come on, Ukraine, keep sending memorable songs like these last years!!!

Yeah, do it, cut off points, say, at least 200.

On the subject of removing points, remember Croatia 1999? Points dropped for vocals on backing tracks. But to me songs from France 2002 and 2005, and Spain 2003 (all songs I like by the way) seem to me to have unsung vocals! Luckly, no one battered an eyelid. Keep it that way!

Verka scored points from every single country except the Albanian jury. That's what cross border appeal does for you.

@Alexa B.

Would you talk like that too if Verka had been the winner and Maria the runner-up?

I hope she did say 'Russia Goodbye' since it will help get rid of that song from second place.

We will at least get Bosnia in the top ten which is a real song and beautiful performance, compared to the nutball, spastic, self-absorbed 'singer' that Verka is.
