Possessions taken away

Greece: Anna Vissi in legal debate

Anna Vissi, the Greek star who has represented both Cyprus and Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest, is going through a very rough time as she saw her possessions being taken by bailiffs and her assets frozen as a result of a 2.3 million euro compensation she has to pay to the Polyvideo Production company.

Clothes, accessories, furniture, paintings and electronic gadgets were taken from Anna Vissi's home last Friday as a result of the popular singer's debate with the Polyvideo Production company who have been adjucated the astronomical sum of 2,3 million euros as compensation for a TV project that did not go through. Anna Vissi's belongings will be auctioned on October 31st at very low starting prices.

Apart from the artist's possessions, Anna's own as well as her family's (ex husband Nikos Karvelas included) assets were frozen. Also she is being accused by Polyvideo that she transferred possessions, such as her Porche, to a third party so as to avoid having it taken away as well. Anna Vissi is currently in Los Angeles.

I think it's strange that Anna/Greece didn't end up in at least top-5 in 2006. "Everything" is one of the best ESC-songs in this decade so far!

Reading this article, it's not clear to me if she is guilty in any way so... let's not judge before knowing more details....

Well, Anna earned all the money and it's a fact that she is in a job that gets her much more money than an average worker! So what is unfair about that? It is her money!

I don't feel sorry for celebrities living a life in luxury but imagine being used to such a life and all of a sudden, your whole belongings are being taken away!

Anyhow, it's not personal against your "beloved" Anna Vissi.
I am not her enemy, it just leaves me cold the hole story, I just wanted to express myself politically. Cause everything we say, everything we do, they we do it, everything, EVERYTHING( you are gonna like that Danniela) is political!!

I don't know if she is guilty or not, but i cannot feel sorry. It's unbeleivably arrogant for the useful members of the society, who offer in education, research, social sector and they earn so little paying so many taxes, when Mr. or Mrs. X celebrity is living in luxury and has enormous assets and fortune. Are all these assets legal?I don't think so!!!! Does the star system deserve so much wealth! I don't think either. At least once in a while we have some justice!!!!

Corruption is corruption, and celebrities sometimes-hopefully- must pay. Personally, i don't feel sorry at all. When people work for nothing and offer to education, research, social sector, and earn so little, pay so many taxes and some celebrities experience luxury, they always show off and they escape from taxes law, this is justice. At least a taste of justice!!!
