It's nice to see so many comments about Carola again and again :)
Some news just pass by and nobody really notice...but not news about Carola.

<b>Carola continues to get great review for her new album "I denna natt blir världen ny".

Svein Kristiansen gives the album the grade 5 (out of 6) and in the Norwegian paper Fredrikstad Blad, and writes:

"Carola is at her best when she sings emotionally charged songs that require that she puts her heart into them. "I denne natt blir världen ny" carries the peace and joy of Christmas in a simple and touching way. (...)

My favorites are "Mariavise", "I denna natt blir världen ny" and "När det lider mot jul". It would really surprise me it this won't become the big Christmas album in Scandinavia this year."

Arne Guttormsen says "She's done it again!" in his review in another Norwegian paper; Vårt Land:

"The title track has lyrics by Erik Hillested an describes Bethlehem of today as "deserted and gloomy". While hearts have become hard, the angels and shepards are gathering and hope lives by the concrete wall. The lyrics are accompanied by a melody that has hit potential.

The highlight of the album is Hans Olav Mørk's new "Mariavisa" that goes straight into your heart. Tore Aas' melody is simple and effective. If you would learn just one new Christmas song this year, this would be good choice."

Carola will ALWAYS be The 1st Lady of Swedish Music. She's true legend!

Sorry, but she's not well-known outside of Sweden. Only Swedes and ESC fans are aware of her. Agnetha Fältskog, Frida and Marie Fredriksson have had much more success than her.

I didn't make a judgment. I just stated why, I think, some people think making a christmas-album is wrong. Personally I don't care. And I certainly don't care what Carola does. I wish her all the best as long as I don't have to listen to her. And because she is almost unknown in my country I don't. I'm only reading about her on esctoday because everything she does is considered worthy a newsitem.

ws you must have a really strange christmas in your home, in your thinking christmas presents, cards, wrapping paper, crackers etc are profiting from a religious occasion, christmas songs have always been around and are no different than any other money making part of christmas

Because religion and earning money don't go well together. Read to story of Jesus cleaning the Temple. Making money out of a belief is very often considered hypocrith.

It's part of the idea that she records them over and over again. Yes of course it's for the money, that's what all singers work for, so why is this so condemned?

Stilla natt, Gläns över sjö och strand, När det lider mot jul, Nu tändas tusen juleljus... I wonder HOW MANY times these songs were recorded by different artists. Countless, I'd say. Do the people really need to buy them again and again and again??? Some were even recorded by Frida and Agnetha from ABBA.

Well, you may know X-mas albums is an easy way to milk the cow with little effort. I'm SO GLAD this kind of stuff is not popular in my country!

Oh how I wished we had in the Netherlands such an outstanding singer. But no. Everything in Sweden is so much better. It is the best country in the contest and MF is the best preselection, and everything who disagrees with me is jealous.
