Andorra supports entry with € 31,200 for video
Although the Andorran public broadcaster ATV has not yet confirmed that Gisela will be their next representative at the Eurovision Song Contest, preparations are underway for promotion of the next entrant. After weeks of speculation, the name of the company that will hold the Andorra's project for 2008 has been revealed: Món Musical (Musical World). This audiovisual Andorran corporation will receive €31,200 from the Department of Tourism with the aim of making up the videoclip for the Andorran 2008 Eurovision entry.
As the Department of Turism stated yesterday afternoon in a public note, the Department itself "will collaborate in the production and selection of the images that will appear in the promotional videoclip of the song that will represent Andorra in 2008". Moreover, it seems that the intention of the Andorran Government is to make up a video exploitable for other purposes: "The Department of Turism thinks it's appropriate to register the clips in high definition, in order to use those images in foreseeable promotional campaigns".
The executive director of Ràdio i Televisió d'Andorra (RTVA) has asked for time to close the necessary agreements to fix the 2008 Andorran Eurovision project. The new tendency depicted lately by the Andorran public television has not been free of controversy: criticism has flooded from musical and political statements against the privatization and closure of the selection procedure, and the possibility that the Andorran entry could be sung mainly in English.

Gisela is a good choice, Andorra is Catalan, and so is she. 31 200 euro sounds good, I would have been angry if it was Moldova or Belarus, who should have better priorities, but a country like Andorra can afford it.
I have seen making offs from music videos from big American stars. They were MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE. So do anyone here know how much a music video from an average singer in Europe usual cost? Is 31,200 € much or not?
Ràdio i Televisió d'Andorra (RTVA) is on a good way, the critics have no idea about Eurovision I fear. To take part just for fun, without success makes no sense in the long term perspective. The nomination of Anonymous was the first step into the right direction and RTVA will move on by selecting Gisela, selecting a modern song and singing mostly in english. Their PR material was always good from the second entry on, better than most of the Big 4 PR stuff. Only good songs and experienced performances were missing - hope it will change now. As said before, this years entry was promissing.

Andorra has more or less 80,000 inhabitants, and just 36% Andorran.
Gisela is a good option, as she can sing in Catalan (the official language of the Principality) and she's from Spain (38% of the Andorran population is Spanish).

Gisela, a possibility? Why ATV? If you wanted to choose a Spanish singer, there are actually hundreds of them who are infinitely better than her. I have watched her singing live and she definitely leaves a lot to be desired! I am really shocked! I am sure you have very talented Andorran singers- why not invite them? Be proud of your country and your people!
