Annet Artani prepares songs for Greece

Although ERT, the Greek broadcaster, have not yet announced the details of next year's preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest, it is indicated that an internal selection is out of the question. The broadcaster seems set to go for a national final with many songs for one artist or one with many artists competing for the ticket to Belgrade.

Annet Artani, the Cypriot representative in the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest, stated that she is currently in Canada preparing three songs to submit to the Greek broadcaster this time. In her MySpace blog, Annet states that she is keen to "correct the image" created by her participation in the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest with a ballad she was asked to sing. Thus, she is working on a high energy piece that will showcase her vocal abilities and suit her personal style more than Why do the angels cry did. With the second song she has written : "the rock chic within me is metaphorically spitting out this ultra girl power attitude left and right", says Annet. To make provision for a possible decision by the Greek broadcaster to go for a choice of multiple songs for one singer, Annet will be working on three songs in total, just in case.

After Canada, Annet Artani will be flying to New York city where she will sign a contract with a local label and begin work on a new album in January.

Greeeeeeeeeeeeat decision! I'm speechless when listening to her!
Except if she is singing "why do the angels cry" or other stupid songs like this!
Anyone has the right to make a mistake...and try to correct it!
Go Annete!

I completely trust Annet. She's far better than bouzoukosingers like Chryspa for example.

isn't she the one who was nagging over her disqualification last time? what does she want more?
oh please as if there r no good singers in greece we should import a reality reject again

@ Xan Adu....good point lol ;). Seriously, she is complaining because the song simply flopped and that`s bad for her image. She even said so more or less. That`s why she`s trying again : to show the public she can do better with her own songs. The failure in the semi is not good for the career. I somehow understand her motives....but I doubt ERT is ready giving her a second chance at the ESC. It will be a native Greek singer for Greece in 2008 IMO.

I liked her solo Greek album. But why is she complaining so much about 'why do the angels cry'? Was she forced to sing it? Was she kidnapped from an Athenian reality show by Cypriot pirates, taking her in chains to Nicosia and obliged to sing? If so, then I think she should report the matter to the Greek and Cypriot police for further investigation.

She has made it clear in her myspace blogs that her music style is NOTHING like "Why Angles Cry". You can see that too if you bought her Greek CD. In an interview she stated that she didnt even know how to enter for Eurovision, and that the composer proposed for her to sing "Why Angles Cry". Otherwise she would have composed her own song.

That being said, she was a BIG sore looser. After ESC she went on a news show on ALTER channel and said that ESC is a joke, and how could Lordi win, and after seeing Lordi win she dosnt take the competition seriously. If she thinks that, WHY is she entering again?????

I liked a lot her 2006 entry and it was so unfair she didn't qualify :-(

but she deserves a 2nd chance and i hope ERT to give it to her!

Annete is a v. beautiful & talented performer & composer!
Her Greek tracks -let alone her INTERNATIONAL ones-are obviously decent + qualitative ;)

She was so down-to-earth on the show she attended,I also liked her performance unlike some people...
I hope she succeeds in what she is doing!

Good luck to Annet- her 2006- song was such crap, nobody could have saved anything with such a boring song (I swear, if I hear one more song about angels, I'll...)...
But I think that Annet has some potential- with a great song, it'd be nice to see her back...

There in ERT they should also consider that one of the qualifiers will be decided by jury vote, when they'll pick the artists who will take part in the greek preselection.

I'd love to see Annet in a Greek final.
Please ERT give her the chance to be in the NF...! Her song sounds like it'll be something professional! And she has a lot better voice than all the others rumoured to be in the NF (Martakis, Hryspa, Kalomoira)

Well, Annette was a lot better than that really bleak song she was put to sing. Best of luck to her, but I would think ERT would prefer somebody who is more of a name. Who, apart from eurofans, remembers Annette?
