Only a few more hours to go

JESC 2007: Live from Ahoy Arena

It is just a few hours to go until the Te Deum will open up the 5th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and children from 17 countries will be performing their songs at the 2007 Junior Eurovision Song Contest staged this year in Rotterdam's Ahoy.

At 20.15 hours the show will be televised around Europe's Eurovision network and the Internet. Viewers will be able to vote for their favourite songs to select the most successful Junior Eurovision Song of 2007.

The 17 delegations including the young artists are arriving at the venue from their hotels and are now preparing themselves for the big show tonight, that is make up, dress fittings, warming up exercises for the dancers.

The atmosphere is very relaxed but also very exciting and friendly.  Spectators are also arriving at the Ahoy and the press centre more and more fills up with journalists from various countries covering the event for their countries' media.

esctoday.com has a team on location to bring you up-to-date news as they happen during the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2007. Stay tuned.

Oh great we are having an argument even though I am predicting results based on never having heard the songs. Fab! So far I have

1. Georgia
2. Armenia
3. (a long way behind) Belgium)

we will see what happens

I just published my votes not what I expect to see tonight. Let me remind you that in the first edition of JESC despite Cyprus gained 12pts from Greece last 14th out of 16!!! Furthermore, while Greece received 12pts from my native came 13th out of 15 competitors.
So, you are the one should go back and learn from the past

Five great songs, should be the top 5:
Ukraine
Macedonia
Armenia
Belgium
the Netherlands
It would be nice if the east vote also for the west, then we can stop this issue. Have a lot of fun tonight.

Cosdino

Having heard none of the songs and not caring to much, I would predict the following result, based solely on neighbourly and political voting - which is what we are going to get. In particular, Greece and Cyprus are both going to get at least 12 so there is no question of them finishing as low as you say. There is also no chance of Netherlands finishing above anywhere eastern at all. Belgium, Malta and Portugal are never going to beat Armenia and the chances of Georgia finishing zero are absolutely zero. Didn't this year's semi-final teach you anything? Lol.

1. Russia
2. Ukraine
4. Romania
5. FYR Macedonia
6. Bulgaria
7. Armenia
8. Lithuania
9. Belarus
10. Georgia
11. Cyprus
12. Greece
13. Malta
14. Belgium
15. Netherlands
16. Sweden
17. Portugal
