National Final with televoting in January
Exclusive: 12 songs for Moldova national final
12 songs were selected from the 27 songs submitted to TeleRadio Moldova this evening by a preselection Jury featuring representatives from the broadcaster, OGAE Fan Club and music specialists. esctoday.com can reveal that the 12 songs selected by the jury to compete in the national final are:
- 86 points: Olia Tira- Always will be
- 82 points: Alexa - We are one
- 63 points: Edict - I believe
- 52 points: Geta Burlacu - A century of love
- 52 points: Cristina Rujitcaia - You make me feel crazy
- 49 points: Catrina Pislaru - Dance with me
- 39 points: Jay Mon - Point of view
- 35 points: Dana Marchitan - Your name
- 27 points: Galina Scoda - Your own vision
- 24 points: Scroom - Jane
- 22 points: Elena Dermidjean- Living creatures
- 18 points: Liusia Znamensky - Don't deceive my heart
The Moldovan national final will take place at the end of January, although no date has yet been confirmed. The public will have a chance to televote, however it is not yet decided if a jury vote will also be used. stay tuned to esctoday.com for all the latest news.

Alexa's Song is the best... im maltese if alexa will be selected moldova you'll get my vote... Gud luck alexa GREAT song+ GREAT SINGER = winner of the moldovian finals.. hope you will go to belgrade

I thnk there are some great songs in Moldova this year,
and I have to say: I haven't expected that.
When there were only 27 valid songs submitted in a country that is near to withdraw from the contest I thought the quality of the songs would be much lower ...
Olia's song is very like 'Fight' Alexa might have a chance though
I think they make a mistake taking out Tanita and Sergiu, from these songs the only ones y had in my top 10 were:

_I Believe
Let's hope one of these wins and achieves a good place for Moldova

Alexa's song reminds me of fight but it's nice

'always will be' looks like 'Fight' soo much.....hmm...
Tanita was my favourite..it was a great song...i guess her live performance was not good??? Alexa has the best song..a bit melodifestivalen sound

Plus: A typical ESC song, not a winner, but a contender with a good performance.
Minus: Too similar to "Fight" and not very original
Verdict: 4,5/5
Your name
Plus: Memorable and catchy
Minus: Bad english, tends to be a bit boring
Verdict: 3/5
Don't deceive my heart
Plus: Something different for ESC, catchy and dramatic melody
Minus: Bad english, maybe a bit too dramatic
Verdict: 3,5/5
Your own vision
Plus: Great melody, I love the way it changes between rock/pop and more traditional
Minus: The back melody reminds (at least me) of Serebro too much

Plus: Another different song
Minus: Too teenager for ESC

Plus: Interesting song and performer seems experienced

Plus: Pop/rock dominates this final, this song is contemporary and memorable
Minus: A bit repetitive and too tenager again for ESC

Plus: Down-tempo song that stands out in the national final,
Minus: No comment about her english

Plus: Another typical ESC song
Minus: A bit outdated

A century of love
Plus: Very beautiful melody, new style in ESC
Minus: Too calm song
Verdict: 3,5/5
Final verdict: The obvious choice would be either "We are one" or "Your own vision" if Moldova wants a safe result (although not a victory) If they decide they want to risk a bit I would suggest "Don't deceive my heart" and if they want to appeal more to teenagers that watch ESC they should try with "I believe". The others won't lead Moldova anywhere.
No final for Moldova this year, I'm afraid.

Bad choose
As predicted : a fight between Olia and Alexa. The jury wasn`t that sure about the fav. as they got almost the same points. I hope for Alexa then, Olia should try again 2009 with a better song. It won`t help to go to the ESC with a weak song, without many chances to qualify.
Yeah, I really don't see any reason for 12 entrants...there's a huge spike in quality between the top five songs and the rest of the entries.
I like to think that Edict's song would fare quite well at Eurovision. I also like Geta's song, but my confidence in that doing well at Eurovision isn't as high.
I'm going to pick Alexa for Moldova here. Even if it is a little too similar to a certain Helena Paparizou song...

Alexa's song is a nice copy of Fight, but Natalia Barbu's song was better...
To be honest, I can't see a big difference between Gisela's Casanova and Alexa's We Are One - for me, they have the same level...
no, in the case Alexa's going to win this, neither Moldova nor Andorra will be among my favourites in Belgrade...

what happened to "I Love The Little Girls" ? I guess they realised it's a crap song regardless of the lyrics ja ja ja
What doesn't make sence to me is that the bottom songs which just narrowly got in seem o be a far distance form the winner choice here. Is it worth staging a show for all 12 finalist. Maybe narrow the field down to 8 perhaps
