2007 Nordic Preview show - part 2

The 5 Nordic experts have now once again spoken their mind.

Albania: Aida & Frederik Ndoci - Hear my plea

Eirikur Hauksoon, Iceland: I think it is their English they are apologising for. If anyone knows those two then please ask them to sing in their native language! It is not the worst song we will get to hear, the tune is ok, but the language is wrong. 2 points.

Adam Duvå Hall, Denmark: He looks like Al Pacino from Scarface. They need some marriage counselling! I am, every moment, expecting it to stop and him admitting that this was just a joke. 0 points.

Charlotte Perrelli, Sweden: This is really bad. I understand that some might like this heart and pain thing, but I am about to puke! 0 points - double zero if I could give that.

Thomas Lundin, Finland: He is yelling a lot - for nothing. A lot of body language and mimic, but he is not coming out with any emotions at all. It is just an echo - but a solid echo. 1 point.

Per Sundnes, Norway: I give it one point also - due to the mustard and that I am looking very much forward to seeing this live on stage.

Flag of Denmark

Denmark: DQ - Drama Queen

Charlotte Perrelli, Sweden: It is a bit weird, a bit too much of everything. No doubt it is a good Eurovision Song Contest song, but it doesn't work all the way for me. 2 points.

Thomas Lundin, Finland: If you put a man in women clothes on stage in 2007 then you can't expect it to be a sensation, because it just isn't. Norway did it already in 1986, Slovenia in 2002. We have seen it before so it needs something else. The song is called Drama queen, but there is no drama in it. But Peter sings well and it is a good song. I give it 3, but hopes for more drama on stage in Helsinki as then it can be 4 points from me.

Per Sundnes, Norway: I totally disagree. Sex-confusion is a natural part of the Eurovision Song Contest and Peter does it fantastic. He makes drag an every day thing and shows that every man can wear women clothes - including me. 5 points.

Eirikur Hauksoon, Iceland: Everyone who knows me will know that this is not really my style of music. The clip I have seen from the Danish final was better than the video though. He sings well though... drag or not, I wouldn't know about that. My Danish friends will be awarded with 3 points.

Adam Duvå Hall, Denmark: It is not chock effect that Denmark with all the freedom we have enter a drag show, but it is a party song. When you have heard 30 seconds you are in it - there will be party in Helsinki and Denmark will make sure of that. 3 points.

Flag of Croatia

Croatia: Dragonfly feat. Dado Topic - Vjerujem u ljubav

Thomas Lundin, Finland: I think it is cool to enter with a rock singer being almost 60 years old, but this song should have retired a long time ago. It is walking very slowly towards a chorus that never comes. It is a shame, because it could have been good, but it isn't. 1 point.

Adam Duvå Hall, Denmark: I will let the song speak for itself. 0 points.

Charlotte Perrelli, Sweden: It makes me sick. I am trying to listen to it, but I can't. Get it away! It is the worse I have ever heard! 0 points.

Eirikur Hauksoon, Iceland: Well I have promised not to give zero points to any of my competitors, but it is becoming quite tempting. 1 point.

Per Sundnes, Norway: I don't understand that a nation can chose this for the rest of us to judge. Can't they hear that they are singing so false, that it hurts? I would like to give half a point for the dry hair, but I can't. Even if he were 100 years old then it still wouldn't work.

Flag of Poland

Poland: The Jet Set - Time to party

Per Sundnes, Norway: I doubt it will work live. This is something Christina Aguilera does better. It is not good if you are watching a video from Poland and think about Trafficking. 2 points.

Thomas Lundin, Finland: I am feeling old and tired when I am watching this. Is this what young people do these days? I am really feeling with her dad who has to watch his daughter offering herself like that. Poor man! It might be new and good. I am giving it 2 points just to be sure. Please continue to the next one because I don't understand this.

Eirikur Hauksoon, Iceland: It is a standard song; I wouldn't be surprised if it would go to the final. It is better than the one before though, so 2 points.

Adam Duvå Hall, Denmark: "Dear Europe, will you please come to our party? Love, Poland". No thanks, I will stay home. 0 points.

Charlotte Perrelli, Sweden: I might have liked it in another context, because it is quite ok. But I don't think Europe is ready for this porno shock. We don't know how it will be on stage, but I don't think it will work.. 2 points.

Serbia : Marija Šerifovic - Molitva

Adam Duvå Hall, Denmark: I believe in it. It is a solid ballad. It has it all - including a clown in the background - whatever he is doing there. And she has something about her, some mystic. I would like to see it do well. 4 points.

Eirikur Hauksoon, Iceland: This is what I see as a typical Balkan song: heavy, serious, but she sings well although she has a bit of problems on the high notes, but I also want to see it do well - 4 points.

Per Sundnes, Norway: I wish I had been there when they decided for this stage show. Just put 6 people on stage and let them do whatever they want to. It has nothing to do with the song at all. The song might be good, but I am being way to distract of everything else going on. 1 point.

Charlotte Perrelli, Sweden: I think she sings very well and I believe in it, but some female beauty wouldn't have harmed her... if they get that fixed then I believe it will do a top 5 in the final! 5 points.

Thomas Lundin, Finland: I think this is one of the best songs, which have ever entered the Eurovision Song Contest. It has everything I love about the contest: A beautiful song, an unexpected arrangement, a good chorus, feelings, and drama. Her styling is not good, but you don't notice that when you are listening to it! 5 points.

Czech Republic

Czech Republic: Kabát  - Malá dáma

Eirikur Hauksoon, Iceland: There is something strange with that bass-voice. I am suspecting that they use a vocoder as no one can sing so clean. It is a rock song so I should be more enthusiastic but there is something missing. 3 points.

Adam Duvå Hall, Denmark: I think the same as Eirikur. Middle of the road. Good rock n roll. 3 points.

Charlotte Perrelli, Sweden: I am totally convinced... convinced that it is crap. It is simply the worst. I don't understand it at all. 0 points.

Per Sundnes, Norway: I don't understand it either. I will give it one point though for the girls in the background dancing totally uncontrollable.

Thomas Lundin, Finland: I think these monsters are scarier than Lordi; they were at least fun. This is just sad. We know that hockey is from Czech Republic so we shouldn't be surprised that they enter with hockey rock. 1 point.

Flag of Portugal

Portugal: Sabrina - Dança comigo (vem ser feliz)

Charlotte Perrelli, Sweden: It is sort of half catchy and she sings quite ok. If it will qualify - I don't know. But I think it is so strange that there is no space for fashion. It is like the pressed the pause button in the mid 80's and then just started it again now. 2 points.

Adam Duvå Hall, Denmark: I assume you are talking about the clothes when you say fashion. I was also just thinking that it looks like her dress was made out of a flight seat cover from Aeroflot in the 70's. I really don't know much about fashion though. The song is cute and there is a change you will remember it within this Latino environment. 3 points.

Eirikur Hauksoon, Iceland: This is a song which makes me think about how weird it is that I am standing here and also will be singing on 10th of May as this is a song which might actually qualify while I have to go home that Thursday evening. But I have to say my opinion and this is really bad. 1 point.

Thomas Lundin, Finland: I think it is time Portugal takes a time-out and start thinking about what it is they want in the Contest. This is hopeless. A similar song won in 2002 and already at that time the song was dead - so 5 years later it must be stone dead! The difference to 2002 is that back then we had a cheap clothes trick. We don't have to see that again. I am happy about that and therefore I will award them with 1 point.

Per Sundnes, Norway: One point for the worst dress! Especially the gold dress made of plastic folia. That is worth 1 point!

Flag of FYR Macedonia

FYR Macedonia: Karolina - Mojot svet

Per Sundnes, Norway: She is definitely pretty, but I don't think that is enough. And what about all those dancers? There is no need for it. 1 point.

Thomas Lundin, Finland: I don't agree at all. I think it is a very good song and a fantastic singer. I have missed Karolina since Tallinn where she was my favourite. Macedonia is best when it comes to mixing old and new stuff and making it sound natural. Many are trying to copy it, but they never really succeed. 4 points.

Adam Duvå Hall, Denmark: I think it will qualify. She is sweet and many might be thinking that this is what they have all been waiting for - next after Drama queen of course! One point for each leg - wow! They are long - and then the flag - this might be Europe's prettiest flag. 3 points. This is rather solid.

Eirikur Hauksoon, Iceland: This is East-Europe and has some similarity to Serbia, the same kind of style. I gave Serbia 4 so I will give this a little bit less. I don't think the song is as strong as Serbia - 3 points.

Charlotte Perrelli, Sweden: I believe in it. It is pop, with an acceptable portion of Schlager. She is nice and has long legs. I am sure it will qualify. 4 points from me.

Flag of Norway

Norway: Guri Schanke - Ven a bailar conmigo

Eirikur Hauksoon, Iceland: One Latino song will qualify and we can hope for Guri that it will be her. It is nicely produced, but also very predictable. It is Ricky Martin just with different lyrics, but she performs well. 3 points.

Adam Duvå Hall, Denmark: There is a good atmosphere in the song and it makes you get up and dance and that is also the meaning. It is written on the can what is also inside it... it matches, so I am happy. Welcome Norway, on the Latino train. It has been going for some years and will probably also continue to run. 4 points. She is a lovely chick, this one!

Charlotte Perrelli, Sweden: I can't be just as nice. It is a bit "dansband tune", but it becomes too fresh, too much. It is fun that she is dropping the dress, it is a bit Galla like, but it doesn't work all the way. 2 points.

Thomas Lundin, Finland: Dear Norway. I am a friend and as such I will be honest to you even though it is painful. I gave Portugal 1 point so I will also have to give one for this as it is the same song, but where they have at least produced their own song you have, for some weird reason, bought yours in another country. I don't understand why as you have so many great songwriters yourself. So as mentioned, 1 point. I hope the best for you, but I don't like it.

Per Sundnes, Norway: I think this is perfect. It wins on routine and experience. I don't understand why you have to change anything. The song is good and Guri is great. 5 points.

I totally agree with them about Albania- it's pain in the ears and his English kills me!!! They should at least sing in Albanian when their English is that bad!!!
The jury is- in my opinion- also partly right about Serbia. Marija is amazing, when she is on stage singing, you forget everything else and just listen to her! She will do very, very well!
(I still hope Alenka will win because the same holds true for her but Marija is so good that she should at least come second)

I think the jury is also right about Croatia and Poland- both are not likely to be successful.
I fully agree with them on Macedonia- great singer, nice artist; I'm just so glad she will be singing in Macedonian.
Norway and Portugal are both average songs, certainly not the best but I'm beginning to like both of them!
They are nice to listen to, maybe one of them might even qualify but I don't think so.
It's a real pitty for Portugal because it would be very important for them to pass a final once!
About Czech Republic, at first I thought it's horrible but know I think it's okay. It's not too rocky for ESC, I think but of course, a qualification is not very likely. There are many better songs.
I don't know what to think about Denmark. He is certainly not a second Dana International, the song is quite okay but a little weak. In my opinion, there are at least ten better songs in the Semi- Final but good luck anyway!

All in all, the comments of the jury are quite entertaining. It's funny.
I can't wait to see how they will react on Slovenia's entry!

LJUBILJANA 2008, ALENKA GOTAR FOR VITORY!!!!!!!!
